Aliens [ETs] from interstellar space are getting the heave-ho, finally

What’s interesting now is that quite a few cosmologists, astronomers, physicists, et al. are playing down the ET visi- tation idea – because of all the factors (distance, time, etc.) required for space travel even from our nearest neighbors.
The science community is leaning toward intrusions through error or technical ability by those who seem to be showing up in UFOs from parallel existences: other dimensions or universes.
(The idea of multiple universes has become a topical subject among philosophers and their scientific or academic counterparts.)
Some regulars here – Dominick (and Daniel, what’s happened to him?) – don’t seem inclined to find the non-space traveling UFO idea interesting but there it is, coming to the fore more and more.

But if time & distance make visits from some of our Milky Way neighbors impossible, wouldn't getting here from another dimension or parallel universe be even more difficult? I can understand the concept & difficulties of travelling, say, 12 light years but getting here from another dimension, especially with all the choice locations in our universe, I just don't get it! Why here & not over in M31, the Great Galaxy in Andromeda or any of the other 3 trillion galaxies in our universe?

The idea, jlmet, is that the parallel existence abuts ours, with some thinking we have a duplicate being living a life there. That is, we are living in that parallel universe just as we are living here but experiencing a different existence.
Yah, it's goofier than beings coming from another planet, but there it is.

Yes, indeed, it IS goofier than beings coming from another planet. And that is exactly the point. It is the best/worst hypothesis (ETH) in a world of worst/worst alternatives.

I don't know, our own Voyager probes have or are very close to leaving our solar system & we've seen at least one natural object from another solar system move into ours. I've yet to see any verified, honest to God, actual inter-dimensional or alternate universe travel into our own reality. A story or unsupported theory without any evidence is just that...a story & an unsupported theory.

Correct, Rich, but some conjecture is better than other conjecture. If UFOs are real physical objects, and if the technology they display is beyond (way beyond) our understanding, then we can MORE easily infer (conjecture) that we are dealing with some sort of alien life than we can, say, with far "goofer" explanations such as inter-dimentionality or even time travel. Do we know this for certain? Of course not; how could we? But the physical reality and the advanced technology are strong "indications" of ETH relative to alternative explanations.
Let me put you on the spot. Assume that the recent "probe intrusions" had, in fact, displayed an advanced technology: Mid course maneuver; flashing lights; telecommunications. What, my friend, would you conclude then?! Would such events not all but make the ETH the most logical explanation for the observation? Well, then, the only difference is that that would be an inter-stellar probe while our own UFOs are somewhat closer to home. A distinction without a difference.
On a scale of 1 to 100, (one is true and 100 is impossible) my own guess is that ETH is somewhere close to 10 while all of the other theories are 95 and above. And, again, that's all we can surmise at this point until we get additional information.

The problem, for my brain, is that I think the phenomenon is something totally different than anything we have imagined or could.

Another possibility, is that it is a dimensional intrusion/visitation that has been ongoing. The follow up question then comes as to when this may have started.
It's out there but a possibility that must be considered.
