Many of the comments to this article expressed the opinion that the problem for ufology has not necessarily been the nutty UFO community (yes, of course, there are a few nuts) BUT, instead, the dishonest and disingenuous USG that has hidden data and smeared honest private efforts to unravel the UFO mystery. 70 years plus of classified crap. I could not agree more. So I say: Let them (the government establishment secret keepers) clean up their act first before we throw heavy stones at the likes of Dolan, Friedman, Vallee, Keyhoe, of anyone else.

An admirable goal, but ridiculous that the guy responsible for much of the current hype without evidence should be pushing for it. At least some of those responding to Elizondo's article have enough sense to refuse to anoint him.

Yup!

But- upon his departure there certainly could/would have nondisclosure requirements. -I had a few that I thought were silly but were still there then -but they all completely meaningless now with the cold war (of its day and its equipment) now over.

Additionally, his is moves$ toward media are both understandable and distressing.
