Some persons may be assaulted by paranormal realities via an electrical malfunction in their brains

Neuroscientists, at various laboratories and universities, have long been testing persons who seem to have access to realities outside
those that most people participate in -- our daily, normal existence.
That is, a few (maybe more than a few) people appear, on occasion (sometimes more than occasionally), to receive flashes or full-out experiences that defy accommodation with what is seen by most as part of what appears to be our human reality
This has been obvious to some thinkers for a long time (some early Greek philosophers, Madame Blavatsky, and her ilk), J.B. Rhine, Carl Jung, et al.).
The literature is extensive, and can easily be found by online searches or at one’s local library.
It seems that there is also a link between related persons or those emotionally close and shows up in what psychology terms a folie à deux.
Such a “link” has been tested by psychologist Michael Persinger, using an electronic gadget he called a “god helmet.”
Such “electric oriented” linkages may occur, en masse between persons with the ability as was, perhaps, the situation in the popular 1957 Levelland UFO incident or other group sightings as happened in Fatima during the 1917 apparitions.
(Many, but not all persons, who saw or thought they saw the sun maneuver in the sky, accompanied by sightings that some saw as the Virgin Mary, in Fatima, were apparently “connected” by the linkage.)
Direct examples occur in such iconic UFO events as the Hickson and Parker Pascagoula “abduction” or the Phoenix Lights hysteria, even Rendlesham possibly.
But then there are those “sightings” or observations between witnesses not in close proximity, as was the rather current Navy pilot viewings of so-call UAP, like the close-up 2004 sighting of a strange object by pilots David Fravor and Alex Dietrich.
And then there is also, a rapture of captured electronic images and technical data by machines of the same UFO (or UAP as the military puts it), electronic gadgetry having no connection with the human observations. (Or are they connected, in some terrifically unusual way?)
Is there an electric halo around or over many UFO happenings or sightings, a halo that affects (or afflicts) persons with the neuro- logical quirk, while some close by are not affected and thus report nothing.
This happened in the 1966 Ann Arbor/Dexter “swamp gas” event, where some persons saw things and others did not, but the father/son duo (Frank and Ronald Mannor) having the electric link experiencing the very same thing, in an identical way and others seeing something different or nothing at all.
In the Rosales. Caravaca, Dennett listings of observations – Caravaca going back into history to present many of his accounts – show most of the experiences as being among persons related or connected in some serious, emotional way.
(Then there are ghost sightings between “hunters” or “monster observations” often exacerbated by technology, cameras of various kinds or sensory accumulators of various kinds.)
That some persons are primed to be affected by paranormal events or occasions is a given by some, and I find the hypothesis intri- guing, even as the evidence remains circumstantial.
After all, many UFO and/or encounters seem to have an “electric surround” or feel electric to witnesses.
That has to be seriously considered, does it not?
N.B. Witnesses are not having an identical hallucination; they are experiencing the same paranormalic reality or concomitant images per the Caravaca hypothesis.

Schizophrenics are assaulted by debilitating massive electrical input of images and sound. (See earlier postings here.)

A fascinating idea, and at least something different to consider. I'm still going with a nuts-and-bolts UFO theory, one that's not connected to the paranormal -- but let's see how it all stands up to scientific debate and fact-finding.

Ron...
The thinking I can discern is that what is experienced are solid objects or beings from a crossover reality.....that is, the solidity is of a material kind -- leaving traces sometimes and interacting with measuring device sonar, radar, detectors of various kinds.
I think Caravaca touches on this. (I'll ask him.)
It's all very science-fictionally and esoteric -- in the Quantum sense.
I'll try to put together something on the semi-ephemeral (with solidity?) aspects of the topic, as best as I understand it.
Someone is sending me a paper on the theorizing extant.

If this is science-fiction, then it's good S-F. If it turns out to be science-fact . . . jeez.

There's a term for the solid but not quite, but like the name you provided for my lapsed memory, the term I'm looking for eludes me.
When I get the paper explaining it, I'll link it or provide commentary on it.

An interesting and intelligent conjecture. And some of the humming and buzzing reports associated with some UFO incidents may support somewhat this conjecture.

Trying to think outside the box for quite sometime as you've suggested here as could we have so much observational evidence without concrete evidence -It could certainly be time or dimensional -or involved ET- transitory issues.
Also some have increased sensitivities. Think of night creatures that have increase IR sensitivity and there are other aspects out there of some with electronic, visionary or empathetic sensitivities...buzzing of late there is Havana syndrome.
And I can't give up on Fatima.

The only word I know that is "... a term for the solid but not quite" is inchoate.
