A 1968 UFO event with symbols and beings (from Jose Antonio Caravaca)
Cootamundra, NSW
1968
C lives at
Cootamundra and has done most of his life. Now 63 years old, in his early
years, he used to work as a cleaner on night shift at the Cootamundra railway
station, cleaning out carriages. In 1968, he was working in one of the
carriages, mopping the aisle, when he noticed one side of the night sky as
brighter than the rest. So he leaned over so he could see up at a greater angle
and saw a strange sight.
At first he
thought a plane was coming in to land. C reports that a silent and motionless
object he describes as circular, with a symmetrical top and bottom, hung in the
air at a close enough height for him to make out a number of obvious shapes.
First, he noticed
that the bottom of this ‘saucer-like’ object had a different shape to the top.
The bottom had a central object resembling a 44 gallon drum protruding
downwards and that this shape moved up and down – in and out of the main body.
As it did so, the strange lights that emanated from it changed colours through
the spectrum.
The top section
had a clear dome of sorts in which there appeared two ‘beach ball’ shaped
transparent balls which hovered inside the machine. It was at this point that I
interrupted him to ask how he could have seen such things detailed from the
ground if they were at the top of the object. His reply was straightforward;
“That’s puzzled me for years – it’s as if I was in the carriage, but somewhere
closer at the same time”
C went on to describe markings which he drew in a sketch. These markings were on what might otherwise be described as the fuselage.
C then described 5 beings of different descriptions. Apparently, he was met
with two very different types of creature that seemed to be just like humans in
most respects. But one was set apart from the others. His appearance differed
in that his head seemed elongated from the eyes up – so his cranium was
extended.
Again, I asked how this was possible. His response was that he felt there was only one answer – that he had somehow been ‘Taken’. The smaller individuals were using equipment that he could not describe until only a few years ago. The reason was that there were no comparisons to make until current technology made palm readers and postal delivery signatures on an electronic screen an everyday affair.
All of this seemed
to take only a few seconds and C instantly ran screaming to the station master
to bear witness to this thing. After ‘shirt-fronting’ the station master and
practically dragging him out to the carriage where C was working, lo and behold
there was nothing to see.
The stationmaster
gave a singular shake of the head and it was not mentioned again – until he
finally got sick of denial and spoke to us."

I suspect per usual that there is a neurological basis to his anomalous experience wherein the illusion of the outside becoming the inside and vice versa. His projections of images based on his anticipations resemble a dream state where what the memory has synthesized a creation that is brought to the surface. The trigger seems to be as always, an exposure to a high radiation field which I also suspect is a rare atmospheric occurrence that is not extraterrestrial in nature. I think his later attempts to make all this some skewed “rational “ explanation much later ( putting a round peg in a square hole) just leads off into trying to make this match a sort of consensus by default of “flying saucers” which I think is the least likely explanation. That's my conjecture ( rightly or wrongly) of the day..

"an exposure to a high radiation field" -- really?
Where did this fellow come into contact with that "high radiation field" Bruce?
You are over-steeped in Persinger's hypotheses I think.
Neurological glitches can account for some UFO accounts surely, and I think Tim Hebert would agree.
And there is a possibility that neurological flaws or disruptions produce many of UFO events presented here.
But what if neurological inserts or even schizophrenic episodes open the door to perceptions of a reality that exists, aside from the one some of us normally perceive?
Do radiation or electrical surges bring on those visions? Maybe. But that's a kind of deus ex machina.
I think Caravaca's witness saw what he saw, without a need to have been highly radiated.
If your scenario were based in an actual radiation impulse, it seems more persons would be affected and see lots more things than UFOs.
I find no (or few) reports in the literature where people report visions so uniquely attuned to one stable attribute, like a UFO (or strange beings associated with same).
People may be seeing real things, and not because they have been subject to high radiation fields.

I think there are two sides to this coin wherein dehydration, burns and long term illnesses resulting from exposure are provocative...and on the other hand, everything about our experiential realities is a biologically based simulation. In terms of a parallel universe ( as shorthand for a variety of theories), the images enmeshed in those experiences are very terrestrial and yet out of context. You could call them caricatures that denote a mirroring effect that may or may not indicate a sort of parallel reality in a energetic information field as Vallee sometimes considers as a possibility. Is there some occurrence where the two mesh in a semi-physicality? Maybe, maybe not. Schizophrenia is biochemically based, and so does the alteration of biochemicals intentionally or otherwise produce a window into delimited possibilities? I think so but as to any connection to a parallel universe, that remains to be seen.
As far as their being "real" ..whose definition of reality do we prefer? Are you saying they have a material basis as concreted objects...flying saucers?

Yes, I'm saying that some flying saucers have a material reality, now and early on, both.
There are too many evidenced reports too disallow a substantial reality.
I'll post a few upcoming.
Not everyone who's had a UFO experience is nuts or hallucinating.

BTW..
I failed to respond to your question as to why there are no across the board cases of energetic radiation effects..Playing the Devil's advocate, I would ask what do we use as a sieve to sift the tall tales from actual experiences? Are most of them as Zoam would say, psychological? Would this follow the majority of cases being debunked in Blue Book? Yet something is there ( rarely)..and if it's energetic, it certainly follows that this does not correspond to how we define energy (as it manifests)

Nice try Bruce, but nothing substantial in the way of evidence or proof that high radiation or some other anomalous energy field caused the UFO reports we're all familiar with.
I cite the Socorro event or the Taylor/Scotland episode noted here often.
And there are scads more, where an energy field is a stretch.

I wasn't attempting an evangelistic bombardment of your concepts, rather try to get a dialog rolling..These are suspicions, not beliefs. As far as "real "spaceships are concerned,it's a matter of one bias versus another. As I said in the last post this is all subjective by nature unless one has a "belief" buried in the scripting of causes.

How did "spaceships" enter in here?
Flying saucers can be many things, as I see it, spaceships being far down the line however.
The UFO phenomenon fascinates, outside the ET bias.
You and I don't need a dialogue; we agree on the matter pretty much.
But I appreciate your attempt to drag in some of the visiting quidnuncs to this blog.
