A 1716 Illustration of a UFO?

Google's UFO alerts provided, in a link [http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/18th-century-book-cover-prove-8880692], a 1716 book cover that allegedly depicts a UFO.
The article (link) say this:

"The Latin text, a treatise on Mathematics by Johann Caspar Funck, features an illustration on its cover clearly depicting a UFO . The flying saucer is shown emerging from clouds ..."

  • Can you not see the Biblical references right in the picture?

    Psalm 84 includes the lines "Yea, the sparrow hath found a house," and "For the Lord God is a sun and shield." The picture is obviously a (way too) literal interpretation of the phrases referenced, even if the exact verses have a slightly different numbering in modern Bibles.

  • Come one guys, many of these paintings most probably show flying saucers. No doubt they were interpreted by their painters as whatever they wanted: religious events, angels, gods, etc. But the reality is that those objects were FLYING SAUCERS. Period. Stop being so simple minded.

    "ARTE E UFO? no grazie, solo arte per favore"

    Which means "Art and UFO?, no just art please"

    So next time I see an art painting of a galloping horse I will claim with certainty "Art and Horses?, no just art please". Mountains in a painting? No, just Art. Fruits in a painting? No, no, just art.

    Deal with that Zoam, some paintings from the past show UFOs. If that FACT flies in the face of your modern psycho-babble-social media contamination worthless IFO theories, well sorry.

    No wonder Zoam helped Cuoghi with his website, probably by proposing the ludicrous title.
