If we live in a Matrix, then …
Current thinking in some scientific quarters is that there
is a “super intelligence” [God?] providing a holographic matrix that we humans
experience as life.
Our consciousness is programmed to tap into this matrix.

What this leads to is the concept of God, re-envisioned by
science.
Consider that if we are in a matrix, created and continually
updated by a super-intelligence or intelligences, such “creators” (or “game
players”) have a very complicated set of programming code they are dealing with
and have dealt with.
That is, each microscopic aspect of life as recorded by
human minds and aspects occurring now, are or have been programmed in details
so profound that only “a being than which nothing greater can be conceived”
could be the creator.

The matrix hypothesis seems “insane” by me, and goes to the
current thinking that alien life abounds in the universe, which is a
probability, with a slight tinge, by science and other thinkers, that UFOs may
be harbingers of that alien life.
But isn’t that just a reversion to the idea of God (or
gods)?
We are living in a matrix, that’s certain, a matrix of
madness.

Rich, If we live in a matrix, as you feel we do, as you put it!? Would you not consider, that the:.. "Devil, Gods enemy!".. is at work here?
Would not they be, the: "OverLords" of "Good,& evil" or "Normality & Insanity"
Its said, they are at ware.
Up there, is out there, and out there, is where its all happening! We on earth, are only the prize, determined by free choice, for better or for worse, by love, or in hatred,..HENCE, WAR! and out of FEAR, NUCLEAR WAR!
THAT! has got to be of some concern, in the matrix, of free choice.
Either way you look at it,..its a serious countdown, in time...................

A matrix, as the one simulated for us, is so complex that the "intelligence" creating and controlling it, would have to be omnipotent (God) and insane, both.
And adding UFOs into the mix is too obtuse for a rational mind, no matter how brilliant or mad.

The matrix hypothesis seems insane to me to.
Going one step further I find the multiverse similarly insane when the suggestion is that every thing that everyone could have done was done...
Alternated dimensions, OK. Maybe even multiverses, OK. -but to bring all of us into it in all ways is just nonsense.
Maybe I'm just an old Rocker or should have been born in Missouri and I suppose in many ways I'm just an old 'Descartesian' as I believe that I AM here -and "God would deceive us" -at least not that much.

While I'm fascinated, obviously, by the Matrix scenarios, they seem to be a stretch.....a sneaky way for science to admit to a God (or super intelligence as they to euphemize their "unscientific belief/stance).
The simulation is too unwieldy, even for God.

Yup, I'd suggest even "unwieldy" is on the light side, it all flies in the face of Occam's Rasor.
I love the whole of the research into finding and defining 'a new physics' and certainly I'm not a physicist but my take is that those who are are are just squirming about a bit too much with what they don't know as/where some things just don't fit.
