UFO Conjectures

The UFO Reality?

Copyright 2017, InterAmerica, Inc.

We, all of us, are familiar with that hoary presumptive query, “If a tree falls in the forest and there is no human to hear it, does it make a sound?”

I never followed through with the moot debate but I see the question as applicable to the UFO question: “If a UFO flies overhead but there is no human to see it, does it exist?”

Zoam Chomsky (and maybe Lance Moody) would say UFOs do not exist under any circumstance.

While a few visitors here (Daniel, Dominick, et al.) accept the reality of UFOs whether or not humans see them. (I’m with both of them.)

But the reality of UFOs, in various incarnations, is open to interpretation. Some see UFOs as a projection of one’s inner psyche (Jung) while others see UFOs as a manifestation of “madness” – a temporary insanity. (This is a view that explains some UFO “sightings” and plays a part in Jose Caravaca’s provocative hypothesis that an external agent – a neurological glitch – has caused some scenarios where entities appear, doing odd psychical things borne of the witnesses psychology.)

And many ufologists (or UFO buffs) see UFOs as ethereal phenomena or nuts and bolts craft from outer space.

Yet, again, if UFOs are not witnessed or seen (experienced), do they exist, prima facie?

How can that be proven, just as one can ask how can a falling tree in a forest register sound if no one is around to hear it?

Sure, recordings of a tree falling and making sound make a point but the receptacle (the recording device) mimics the human ear so the proposition that a sound is made is open to question, just as a UFO detected on radar or film, without human interaction, leaves open the question of whether a UFO registering anywhere, via any device, minus human perception, is viable, real?

UFO believers would say yes, while skeptics say no.

UFOs exist, in reality, even when one applies the dicta of Jacques Derrida who insists (and which I accept) that (even) fictive accounts are a truth (a reality) that cannot be dismissed as portraying reality.

Reality is what we humans say it is, even the manic (unmeasured) exclamations of schizophrenics are as real (to them) as the placid observations of you who see and extol a vacation sojourn with photographs to confirm your reality.

Quantum reality comes into play, and while easily dismissed by the slothful among you, it is essential to the question of reality and UFOs.

Thus, accounts of UFOs have their own reality, even when not perceived by humans but registering in the ethereal domain of reports, concocted or actual.

But are UFOs part of Plato’s real reality – the outside of the cave reality – or just a fictional yet important aspect of reality as Derrida and others would have it?

You and I don’t really know.

But those who dismiss multiverses, time travel, parallel unverses, and UFOs have no idea what reality is: it’s something established by humanity, factually of fictively, either way, real in every way.

How can that be proven, just as one can ask how can a falling tree in a forest register sound if no one is around to hear it? <....

Given all the World wide reports, on UFO. - one might conclude that yes, indeed UFO exist!! and for those whom, have not seen for themselves, is more likely to be unbelievable!!....

IF, one was dumb enough to sleep on, what was thought to be an OLD Railroad line,

Does a train exist?.. NO! of cause-not!! Not UNTILL it runs you over 0.0*%Zzzz=

Or I don't believe that the tree fell down in the forest, and made a very loud noise, because I wasn't there to hear it!...

It just means, the peoples reports,of their reality, are not of our experience, to understand and except, so we become sceptical, UNTIL; we hear the train coming, or hear the tree falling, in our direction. We will retain our view points, and only a "Formal Disclosure" by an iconic Figurehead, will change everything, if there is any truth to this, at all................

  • To question the nature of reality we must first come to some agreement about the concept of "reality" in the first place. "Reality" comes in unnumbered forms and contexts. Example, dreams are real even though they are perhaps not as "real" as they appear in the dream, discovered when we awake to a higher experience of reality. If this materialistic life is a dream, (Maya) it is a meaningful dream, with a higher experience of real meaning awaiting outside the cave opening through which the shadows pass.
To elevate the human conscious experience to the level of determiner of "reality" is hubris to the max. We must remember, the human conscious mind is the tip of the iceberg floating in an infinite ocean. Yes, I am familiar with the split screen proof of the power of conscious observation in shaping reality of the nature of the quantum event, and the increasing recognition that the entire universe, born out of a quantum event, is quantum in nature. But, the individual unconscious mind, both personal and transpersonal is the place of power and creativity, and the greatest mystery. Tree in the forest: falling, it produces the atmospheric waves that when received by an ear produce what the brain attached to the ear interprets as sound. If no ear is present, the shock waves nevertheless remain real, so the question is "what is sound". UFO flying over produces the info that if received by the proper instrument, eye or camera, etc., can be interpreted as visual, physical or psychic presence. If no proper instrument records the passage, the info may be presumed to still have been produced. In recognizing the power of human conscious observation, we must be cautious to not elevate our tiny perceptual capacities to the point of being dispositive of ultimate reality. Our hubris is already out of control. We best not add to it.

  • Rip;

Reality is a thing to be considered more here, yes?

  • "...who dismiss multiverses, time travel, parallel universes,". No explanations for how/from where/why UFO's visit earth answer the question why no contact (ie White House landing) is ever made. Bringing these potential explanations into the conversation still doesn't explain why 'real' beings from another universe don't attempt to make lasting contact. There has to be a reason the Socorro 'occupants' felt a need to immediately leave despite taking the time to land (and no doubt seeing the human activity on their way down). It seems to me that contact (or merely bonafide proof via a clear, undisputed visual record) simply *cannot* occur, as 'spooky' as that may seem. And certainly we know Einstein's opinion that quantum entanglement was "spooky action at a distance" and simply could not be. Yet it is. Having real contact with UFO occupants seems to be as impossible as finding violations of quantum entanglement.

(I was not clear that the "external agent" meant 'neurological glitch', ie a UFO experience emanates from within a person. I figured "agent" meant something apart from the witness. The term almost seems contradictory, since it's apparently neither external nor separate from the person)

  • James:

Caravaca's "external agent" is a strange thing...both external and internal at the same time....an alchemical-like mystery, rooted in neurological etiologies.

Why "no real contact" by UFOs or entities therein leaves me with my affection for an AI explanation.
