Have most of the intelligent people left Ufology?
Copyright 2018, InterAmerica, Inc.
With the departure of Jacques Vallee from active UFO
research or commentary, and the withdrawal of active UFO participation by
persons such as Paul Kimball, has ufology succumbed to a moronic element in the
UFO community?
Sure there’s Micah Hanks, Nick Redfern, Kevin Randle, Eric
Ouellette, Bryan Sentes and a few others you can name (some on the fringe of
ufology, like Eric Wargo), but, over all, has an intellectual center
disappeared?

In my opinion, NO!..They are all intelligent, in their own right! It is it seems, that some exorcise in good Faith, in their belief, while others need Proof! Most we would think.
It's the Proof, of this UFO story, that's under a veil of doubt, and because of this, no one, it seems,is getting any farther ahead. In addition, there are the personality clashes, I see it all the time! Not helpful! It only leads to disharmony amongst us, so it's not surprising that some drop off the investigation of this elusive UFO story.
But there is one thing for sure, those of us whom, have seen something we have not seen before, and not easy to explain, IF at all, KNOW, that something is going on behind the scene, and worth investigating..
So here we are, and not much better off for having had the experience. All we've achieved, is more questions than answers, and no doubt, others the same.
Now the way I see it is, either the UFO story is true, and we need Disclosure on it, and there is something to it, OR Zoam rules the roost:) I happen to think there is more going on, than we've been told, and is the driving force to finding out.
People come and go, and it is disappointing to see the ones we become familia with as good speackers on this subject, drop out for a variety of reasons, but that's life isn't it!? While the UFO thingy gets away from us.............

Rich, don't despair, I'm still here...part time, but drop in from time to time.
Now don't laugh, but I know that I'm highly intelligent since I don't buy into the bullshit UFOs/ET are real fantasy. The less I talk about it the higher my I.Q. Well, my I.Q. just dropped a little since I'm writing this comment.
Just thought I would brighten your day...

Rich:
My view is that the UFO phenomenon (however you want to define it) presents itself more or less randomly to the human population. Considering that the human population has a Gaussian distribution of intelligence, that means that you will have UFO reports ranging from uneducated tribal people in the Kalahari desert to NASA Astronauts and nuclear physicists, and everyone in between. Therefore, some people will be able to provide highly intelligent and erudite descriptions of their experiences with lots of nuance, and others--not so much.
I think that there is a general improvement in the quality of UFO thought between the beginning of the modern UFO age (1947) and now and it's is due to the general increase in scientific understanding between then and now. However, this isn't necessarily obvious to the non-technical community because the center of mass of scientific thought on UFOs has moved underground, so that it doesn't often appear in the ordinary public conversation.

@ Larry: ...or uneducated tribal people in the Shenandoah Valley to highly observant Aborigines in the Australian outback...
