UFOs….what do they want?

Watching National Geographic’s Hostile Planet and
like nature shows indicates, as I often mention here, that animals are
purposeful in the search for food (survival) and mates (reproduction), and
that’s about it.
For humans, survival was once the sine qua non of
daily existence, the search for food, and then the search for mates (sexual
engagement to procreate or satisfy the sexual urge).
As societies were established and survival (shelter and food)
became readily available, and sexual activity became routine even rampant (as
outlined in the Hebrew Bible in Genesis for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodom_and_Gomorrah),
humans were inclined to seek other pursuits, spurred by curiosity and/or greed
(the desire to accumulate wealth, and power).
Since the time of the Explorers [Fifteenth Century] to
today, humans rush(ed) to experience things anew, to revitalize their mundane lives
with pseudo-adventures.
So, if an alien species is responsible for UFOs, they, from
an advanced civilization, would have their survival needs satisfied, unless
their home planets were under siege by the vicissitudes of the violent
universe, and their sexual needs curbed or non-existent, since a god didn’t
probably tell them to go forth and multiply.
Therefore, what would be left for them: conquest for wealth (power) or scientific, even puerile curiosity?
Therefore, what would be left for them: conquest for wealth (power) or scientific, even puerile curiosity?
Yet, those suggestions are encapsulated by the exigencies of human societies as they uniquely evolved on Earth which wouldn’t
necessarily apply to species and their civilizations (if they have
civilizations) elsewhere.
Again, I’m asking what are UFOs doing here? What’s their
purpose for existing? Why hasn’t the phenomenon disappeared, since their
supposed curiosity would surely have been sated by now? And the phenomenon
doesn’t seem inclined toward power or conquest, mostly benign when encountered
or subdued in behavior, generally.
The phenomenon is like a stain on a shirt: where did that
spot come from?
We may only be dealing with dirty laundry.

Maybe the planet Earth, is their funny-farm, a Zoo if you like, were they monitor all life forms in the millions not to speak of the ones we haven't discovered yet, as in deep-sea life forms. And what about those intelligent animals, that are able to split the atom? Don't want them out here.Keep an eye on what they're up to, and they're developments, and so on as it may be.But it could be so different..
What IF, they were sharing earth with us, for along time, unbeknown to us, and concerned about our nuclear activity. How would that go down? I can hear the skeptics stirring already:) I don't know, it could be any number of reasons they're here,as the reports seem to indicate.........

From WWII pilot observations that 'Foo Fighters' appeared to be under 'intelligent control' (and which both sides initially suspected maybe an enemy 'secret weapon') and following decades of cover-up and denial, the recent Nimitz & East Coast Navy encounters suggest our knowledge of who & or what is behind these things and what they 'want' appears not to have advanced beyond this original nebulous assessment. If anything we've come full circle and are back to square one.
I don't think 'they' necessarily 'want' anything - numerous reports of nuclear sites being buzzed and/or temporarily compromised seem to suggest curiosity/observation as well as a demonstration that these systems can, should 'they' so wish, be controlled/shut down at will.
If these objects are as Elizondo & co. maintain 'an active threat to National Security' they would surely have exercised this apparent capability by now, were this their objective.
The incident discussed in the final epsisode of 'Unidentified' where an Italian helicopter over Sicilly was allegedly 'shot at' with a beam/energy weapon, causing it to make an emergency landing, suggests this object could (if it so wished) just as easily have destroyed the helicopter, killing all on board, yet didn't. It suggests a 'warning shot' across the bows telling us to 'stay back'.
To underline this, Chief Radar Operative Kevin Day (stationed on the USS Princeton and shadowing the Nimitz during the 'tic-tac' incident) states days prior to this, an apparent 'formation' of objects appeared on radar travelling at 100 knots at 28,000 feet (again no known technology is currently capable of maintaining such slow airspeeds at such a height). Day notes when an F18 was sent to intercept them:
'They dropped from 28,000ft to hovering just above the ocean in less than a second - when we were told the interceptor had left the area, they popped right back up to 28,000ft and continued going at 100 knots. It was as if they WANTED TO BE LEFT ALONE'
Perhaps that's the simple answer to 'what they want'. As Vallee notes in 'Forbidden Science Vol. 1, it is perhaps an intelligence that:
'was already here before science was invented; (and) will still be here when science becomes superseded by other ways of gaining knowledge'.
They seem curious about our activities (particularly those involving weapons and warfare) but when our curiosity about them becomes too close for comfort, they speedily evade and/or temporarily disable any potentially imminent technological threat.
There is certainly some evidence to suggest they wish to observe, (intervening when deemed necessary) and wish to be left free of interference to do this.
Elizondo, Mellon & co. however (as well as many Navy witnesses) seem to suggest this is no longer a tenable state of affairs, and yet they concede we appear to have no effective means of response to this 'threat'.
If this is the case, then perhaps this explains the apparent 'disinterest' in the phenomena from military top brass, including (according to Kevin Day) senior ranking officers on the Princeton. If these objects aren't actively 'hostile' towards us and we seem currently incapable of matching their apparent speeds and capabilities, how are we ever to advance our knowledge of who & what they are or indeed defend ourselves against them should the need arise? The Military top brass appear to have heeded the advice of Alan Bates' 'Prof. Leek' in 'The Mothman Prophecies':
'Forget about it. You're not meant to know.'

Your so with it Dee, that's what it looks like..They just want to be left alone to observe, and not a thing anyone can do about it...they try! but that has, in the past shown to be futile, and in some cases, disastrous were the aircraft is "shutdown" and Pilot bail-out..........

Maybe the aliens are so far removed from human psychology that they seem like insane for us.(No, I don´t think we´re being visited by aliens but still...) Maybe it´s their hobby, to come to Earth and tease us by taking different shapes and delivering gibberish "messages"..? (OK, I´m not serious, just wondering...)

@Daniel - Yep! I don't really understand the motives of the 'To the Stars' brigade in buttonholing senators, congressmen & Pentagon officials in an attempt to get them to 'take this thing seriously' and 'do something about it', given that elsewhere it's established the apparent technology behind these objects appears to be several orders of magnitude above and beyond our own capabilities (and comprehension) and Elizondo concedes that 'if these things are hostile, we're screwed!'
So what is the Govt/Military supposed to do about this 'threat' exactly?
@Jerry Cornelius - firstly, that avatar ain't Jerry! ;D
Secondly, yep - the psychology/motives of who or whatever is responsible for these objects would probably be as beyond our comprehension as their technology appears to be. That said, the objects in both the USS Nimitz & USS Roosevelt encounters appear to have emerged from/returned to the Ocean (not 'Outer Space')
Perhaps they are (as John Keel suggests) 'Ultra' rather than 'Extra' terrestrials?

Hi,Jerry:
Welcome back! Wondered where you got to. You were one of the regulars in comment here, when I first discovered this blog, so it's good to see you back, joining in this controversial discussion. Hope all's well with you!?..
->(No, I don´t think we´re being visited by aliens but still...)<-
Jerry, do the thousands of reports round the world for years, some reported by people with credible credentials in society, making increible claims.
There's something that's absolutely compelling, going on in our reality. I'm not suggesting a need to believe one way or the other, but something is in earths atmosphere, or a Pilots air-space, that is of some concern to Pilots & registers on Radar...
That to me, is compelling, short of believing, don't you think!?.......?

@DrDee "that avatar ain't Jerry! ;D" -- You´re of course right but I think this as close as I can get : ) (Maybe I should change it to Luther Arkwright....)And a vote to the ultraterrestrials.
@Daniel I´m doing alright now after some rough times, thanks for asking.
I know there are lots of sightings and even close encounters, but I just try to remember that seeing is no believing. All our senses, especially sight, can easily interpret the information they receive in totally weird ways.
Also, if even a fraction of alien encounters is true then our planet is constantly being visited by so many alien species that it´s pretty hard believe that (some) UFOs would be extraterrestrial space ships.
But I agree, I think there´s something strange going on and for me the big question is "Are these weird encounters caused by another, non-human intelligence or are the just some kind of natural phenomena."

Your comment here, is where I'm at, so it appears we are on the same page, more or less. I think it's true to say, there ARE, UFO here in earths atmosphere, as Radar apparently shows, but who's, or what they are, is the question we would all like to know, although there is (one:)...who frequently points out in no uncertain terms..
There's no such thing as UFOs!!!..You guessed it:)..
So why are we all here talking about this if that were true? is my point of view, and no doubt, some others here may agree, or may not, but mostly..and I think you will agree, it is about books to read on this subject, or related subjects in conjecture thereof, of this topic............
