Small mysteries that may mean something

Since I keep harping on the ubiquitous display of old UFO (flying saucer) sightings and events, I should make clear that within those sightings may be a clue that opens the phenomenon to an explanation.
For instance, while continuing to work on my Substack pages about the god who wasn’t, I came across a discourse about the myth- ologies of Sumeria which were, in fact, not fictional texts but inscribed as historical texts by the Sumerian peoples, adjudicated to be myths by scholars because accepting the writings as historical poses problems of various kinds.

Supporting images of the discourse included engraved etchings of the Sumerian “gods,” each holding a handbag (or purse-like gadget).
I’ve approached these images of the totes before, as you know, but no one has provided a supposition or explanation of what those images represent.

The Ancient Astronaut gang says they are equivalent to the equipment bags that American astronauts carry aboard their about-to-launch rockets.
But that’s a biased guess, placing the Sumerian purses in the time-frame era of 1968 astronauts, to support the idea that the images portray ancient ETs visiting Earth.

Early Middle and South American meso-Indian cultures also etched totes into their depictions of gods and exalted personages:
What are the things? They are prominent and numerous among portrayals of the pictured entities, and so they were important in some sense. However, no one has come up with a testable or suitable explanation.

Like UFOs, these manifestations have meaning, maybe an important meaning, but what is that meaning?

  • One researcher on YouTube is certain they're metal vessels (dalums) for carrying water:

  • -> The Ancient Astronaut gang says they are equivalent to the equipment bags that American astronauts carry aboard their about-to-launch rockets <-

One can only guess, or imagine something like this. My guess is; Hand held technology, equivalent to holding todays equipment,or hand held radio of some kind, for example..

That time period, would not understand, but remember something being held in the hand, by the so called gods of the time, but were not gods,I suggest, but seemed, to be seen, as gods, in that time period..

In todays world, we take that image for granted, and we KNOW, it isn't about gods, it is about "technology"..

If we were to go back in time, with the technology we have today, would WE be seen as gods?....I think we would be seen in that light, of their time..

    Soooo, what is the depiction?........?

  • Daniel:

The people of those times didn't see the entities as gods but as special humans.

The sobriquet "gods" came from later "scholars" who didn't know what those "special" entities were, and acknowledging them as gods (via mythology) eliminated the problem of identification.

    The mythology is history,

  • Rich, what ever these entities were, be they special humans, or as the scholars suggest, "as gods" whatever? Where did they come from, and what were they about? What was in their hands, wasn't always a bag or bucket, but other items in some depictions. What they were doing is debatable, is it not!? A mystery to me:)...........

  • The pictures explained: When you go shopping you need your purse. Nothing ever changes.

  • Hahaha. Now the question becomes what were they shopping for?

  • Been thinking about the bags. I've come to consider that they could be for incense or like materials. It would make sense that the god-like would want to smell good. Carried a lot of it as an alter boy.

  • Let's see: water carriers, shopping bags, incense folders......hmmmmm.
And those items so important that the artisans included them in their stone etchings?

It's gotta be something else fellows, altho I know you're being tongue-in-cheek.

    The bags are Sherlockian clues.

Do they portray a valuable mystery? Or just a popular item that the entities carried with them for some reason, filled with what?

As a carried item, with mundane configuration, what the hell were they for?

(And to my point: in old UFO encounters and sightings, were there equivalent items that one might find by scouring the old reports? Something that rats out the UFO's raison d'etre?)

  • Just as interesting to me is that it's another example of similar sculpture/art that's shown up on different continents, in different cultures, at different times. Someone was well traveled.

  • Yep...as usual, Ron, we're on the same page.
