The Bryan Sentes Problem

My one-time pal Bryan Sentes isn’t forwarding his Skunkworls
postings to me any longer.
That’s probably because I’ve been ragging on his approach to the UFO topic (phenomenon).
I’m not dissing Bryan personally; he’s a brilliant fellow as I often write. It’s his tack I'm after.
Bryan likes to commiserate about UFOs within the philosophical context. You know, arguing with the tropes of philosophy…
But I’m sure that philosophy or math or technological studies of alleged UFO after-effects – radiation measurement, electro-magnetic residue, photographic analysis, et al. -- can’t produce, and haven’t produced anything conclusive or even circumstantial about the mysterious phenomenon.
My ache with Bryan and those continuing to pursue the phenom- enon by way of human logic and/or technology (science) will come up short and have come up short.
Bryan likes to tout others who engage in the will-o-the-wisp acti- vities. Why? Bryan just likes being ensconced in the UFO milieu, like many long-timers. He likes the vague camaraderie of the UFO community, at least the apparent thinking element of the community.
He shouldn’t take my asides about the uselessness of philosophy to solve the UFO riddle as a personal affront.
And my comments about his failure to see the 16th Century broad- sheets – the Nuremberg and Basel “UFO images” – as editorial commentary are not just to point out his gullibility but to eliminate the doltish idea that the images are a reflection of UFO battles over the cities.
I’m sorry he feels I’m attacking his UFO pronouncements – well, I am – but he shouldn’t be upset about that. After all, in philosophy, argumentation is the end-all and be-all, is it not?

Hahahaha, What is there to argue over, when little to nothing is known about UFO/UAPs?
Other than it's considered by most, to be "REAL":) so because of this, "SOME" fall into the trap ARGUMENTATIVELY, that can appear to be personal. I see it everywhere...nothing new:) This is one of the reasons for the push on UFO/UAPs "Disclosure" So Bryan, come back to the circle of opinions. At this point of time, that's all it can be...An opinion, for all of us, philosophically or otherwise..
If we don't know what these things are, what is there to argue over, without any of us getting personal!?:)..........?

I was starting to write about how UFOs (or rather ufology) and philosophy have a lot in common (both have grandiose ideas how reality works or should work, both got suppositions that cannot be proven wrong etc.) but I got tired, maybe next time... (I must say philosophy makes my head hurt more than UFOs, sorry...)

If/when there might be more evidence, the philosophical arguments will increase and not decrease.
Only they will be proportionally less in all the discussions.
Just that now, with little ‘compelling’ evidence, they are the only thing in the vacuum.

That itself is a philosophical statement.
Anything that exists, or can exist, is subject to general discussion that is not really distinguishable from philosophical talk.

You're doing exactly what I'm noting: a conversational flim-flam, that can't track the UFO mystery.
It's used by UFOers as a device to pretend intellectual acumen when it's just puffery of a shallow kind.
I've cited the antitheses for philosophy.
Don't press me on this.
