Individuals make the breakthroughs, not groups. When it comes to UFOs, neither have had much of an impact on figuring things out.
Flora and fauna dominate Earth but haven't shown any proclivity for space travel. No, it's the lesser "us" that have the wanderlust and engineering. Maybe it's different on other worlds. Should we expect their versions of lizards, insects, or intellectual carrots to show up here?
