Mental Illness or Mental Deficiency and UFOs

Copyright 2023, InterAmerica, Inc.
While news media and the general public claim it’s “mental illness” causing the daily mass shootings here in the U.S. (and now else- where too), the terminology is, as Thomas Szasz bemoaned, mis-termed, and worse.

My persistent excoriation of ignorance in the UFO, and more so in the UAP, community is not an accusation that rises to the level of “mental illness” but it comes close.

For this pathetic blog, I have a few right-thinking and sober, intelligent readers but I usually only get support from my pal Ron Press.

Everyone else sits silently pretty much.

No one wants to call out the bizarre behavior and thinking of their UFO (and now UAP) fanatical brothers and sisters.

I’m guessing this has more to do with politeness than fear of reprisal.

But the UFO/UAP haze of looniness has become epidemic, especially as the public becomes more entranced by the phenomenon.

UFO/UAP people are not mentally ill, as once thought and registered by news media, but they are, often, at the brink of stupendous stupidity.

This is true about much in society today. My MediaWatch followers and Academic.edu respondents are deeply engrossed in irrational thought (and behavior).

But clearing the decks of those boobs is a task beyond my meager abilities. However, the clot of quasi-maniacal UFO/UAP fanatics, furthered by access to society using social media, can take a hit now and then, from the few sane members of the now beleaguered sect known as ufology.

Yet, few have the guts to call jerks jerks.

In the old days of flying saucer silliness – especially at UFO UpDates – commentary about silly and/or blatant ignorance was front and center of much noted there.

Today, some of those very accusers of others are as silly or ignorant as those they once castigated.

But we have Micah Hanks and Billy Cox holding feet to the fire when ignorance rears its ugly head.

And we still have UFO “researchers” – like Dean Johnson – calling out fake UFO news.

Here, however, at this blog, we get whiffs of silence just as reticent as that in some quarters elsewhere.

As the MAGA groups non-think is blasted, UFO/UAP stupidity, my own included, should be lambasted with heavy fists of right-thinking.

Do you read me, pals and buddies lurking hereabouts?

In all my recent comments here I've been bemoaning ufological stupidity :)

  • Being a daily reader of the blog I must confess to have slipped into too much lurking borne of old age and three jobs. Mea culpa, mea Culpa...

I guess I've become bogged down in my hopeful consideration of UFOs as I read of Jose's Distortion Theory and the hopeful promise of USA disclosures. I know better.

  • Got interrupted in my last response. I've come to believe that Jose's theory, a thoughtful consideration, while bit difficult to follow is intriguing and unique answering to an awareness partially outside of our senses.

The another consideration I've been wrestling with is the idea that the reason we are not getting the military's answer I've looked for for so long is that they believe that there is indeed a sentient aspect -and perhaps in that is an indicted, if not clear, threat at some level. After all the first role of the military is defense.
