UFOs have always adjusted to humanity’s mind-set(s)
Copyright 2018, InterAmerica, Inc.
UFO behavior has ever been peculiar, as described by
witnesses, but it always has been re-active; that is, UFOs and, sometimes,
entities seemingly from them have responded to witness mental acuity and
emotionality, and that human mentality/emotional makeup has been different through
various stages (ages) of mankind.
UFO behavior is predictive, or could have been, if
researchers noted that the phenomenon’s presence and activity (behavior) was
recognized as determinant, based on the psychology or instinctive reaction of
those seeing or being accosted by a UFO visitation.
For example, in the earliest eras of man’s existence, the
Neolithic period when mankind became “conscious” as suggested in the hypotheses
of Julian Jaynes, the mental acuity of these early humans have been denoted as
primitive, and the appearance of a UFO or any attendant entities would have
been received as one more new experience that Neolithic man was becoming aware
of.
As consciousness expanded and became more sophisticated,
early man ascribed early UFO appearances as divine or from an ethereal
existence and lo, we have the beginning of religion.
For a period of time – from primitive man to the evolved state
of tribes and cultured or “refined” humans – UFOs had the patina of divinity:
UFOs took on the hallmarks of saints or religious icons.
This remained so well into the 17th and 18th
centuries.
With the advent of balloon flight, UFOs behaved like airships,
making appearances that mimicked balloon flights of the period.
As air travel progressed into the modern era, UFOs took on
(morphed into) the likes of human aircraft, with occasional landings whereupon
humanoid beings sometimes emerged to interact with humans. The French wave of
the 1950s is an example.
People during this period, even pilots like George Gorman
who had a “dogfight” with a UFO in 1948, held back from truly aggressive
behavior.
There was a reticence to act barbarically, even in the face
of a phenomenon that caused anxiety because of its strangeness.
The small entities rife in Europe during the 1950s wave of "deplaning" humanoids interacting with farmers (mostly) and other docile humans
were not met with any aggressive behavior by those who were confronted by such
weird beings.
Men and women were almost courteous, even when facing
something that was outside their normative existence.
Right up through the Hills purported abduction or Travis
Walton’s “kidnapping” in the mid-1970s, humans did not react to UFO intrusions
in ways that were outside the model of cautious reticence or polite behavior.
And UFOs and their contained entities behaved belligerently,
even hostilely as in the Michalak (1967 Falcon Lake aggression) and the 1979
Taylor attack (in Scotland).
But then in the 1980s, human behavior took a turn for the
worse; people starting acting boorishly, and more aggressive than in the past.
With the advent of the internet, human behavior has devolved
into the worst kind of behavior, people of all stripes hoping to become viral
by doing the most outrageous things.
And thus, UFOs taking note of this change in human behavior
have become reticent to interact or engage with humans, whether in the air or
on the ground.
UFO reports of little or tall entities showing up to mingle
with humans have all but disappeared.
And UFOs courting response from aircraft has ceased also.
What does this
imply? That UFOs have a connection with the psyche of humankind?
That human behavior has some control over what UFOs are, and
the phenomenon is geared to the zeitgeist or psychological Weltanschauung of a
human time period?

So UFOs react to a more positive manner based on a stable social construct?
Perhaps our neural synapses are increasingly more stimulated (dopamine/serotonin) via today's instant social gratification leaving the UFO meme in the dust bin of human consciousness...for now.
God help us for what truly lies in the near future for instant human gratification...Big Foot and Nessie will be the next to consciously fall by the wayside.
I recall the complaint that one person made to a well known medium some years ago that he could never get in contact with or see ghost and spirits. "That's because you don't believe in them." replied the medium.

"But then in the 1980s, human behavior took a turn for the worse; people starting acting boorishly, and more aggressive than in the past."
As opposed to, for instance, the first half of the 20th century when world wars slaughtered tens of millions? If UFO's are watching our cultural development that closely they will undoubtedly recognize that the world is, in general, far more compassionate and tolerant now than at any time in huiman history. But why would we conclude that they have the slightest interest in such changes? There is no body of evidentiary work to support that thesis.
Speculating on why aliens are interested in us is always fun though.
What did the alien say to the gas pump?
Take your finger out of your nose while I speak to you.

"debarking"? Perhaps you meant to say "disembarking"?
The Grandma Police.

David...
I meant "debarking" -- those ETs are dogged in their activity.

"That human behavior has some control over what UFOs are". It has always intrigued me that sightings in the 50's and 60's generally involved classic 'flying saucers', as if that was all we could mentally come up with regarding a potential shape. And since movies and TV then fed into that mindset, it continued as such for the next 20 years. There were seemingly no sightings of a Starship Enterprise craft or anything like the ship in the recent 'Arrival' movie. That we even considered as feasible (and not laughable) as potential interstellar craft the McMinville or Heflin photos (perhaps hoaxes should not be brought into this discussion) indicates to me that UFO's (the non-hoaxed variety) are no different than fashion, cars, etc - they change with the times. And that's troubling since it means either witnesses are influencing what they see, or are being visually fed what is deemed appropriate for us in that time period.
The recent CGI faked UFO's on YouTube are very impressively rendered and represent what we now in the early 21'st century perceive as potential interstellar craft. There certainly weren't any of those during the heyday of UFO sightings from the 50's - 70's.
Going back once again to Socorro: a small egg-shaped craft with actual retractable 'landing gear', like something out of a Twilight Zone episode or B-movie of the time??? . Why did Zamora 'see' this and not a super-snazzy Millenium Falcon? Because he could certainly 'understand' and draw an egg, and it served the purpose of whatever is responsible for these sightings. I'd be much more in the ET camp if he, while being interviewed, said: "it was like nothing I've ever seen before, nothing I could even conceive of - I'm not even sure I can draw what I saw". But instead he saw an egg.
