Not surprising that "UFO" Believers, like Dee, see and hear exactly as they are predisposed. Nothing Dave says in that clip is contrary to his clearly written statement that "There is no 'UFO' phenomenon." There are lots of phenomena that are the stimuli for "UFO" reports--in some cases unknown, but that doesn't make them extraordinary, just not readily apparent given the witness's report.
Welcome Your Psychosocial Overlords. Resistance is Futile!
First of all I'm not a 'believer' in the perjorative sense you employ the term, implying 'gullible credulity' I merely accept the testimony of credible, qualified & professional witnesses who were present, rather than the third hand opinions of 'skeptics' many of whom have neither the knowledge or credentials of the witnesses they are attempting to discredit, and who crucially simply 'weren't there'.
Clarke CLEARLY states in the clip 'The UFO Phenomena (sic) includes lots & lots of different unconnected things - natural phenomena, INEXPLICABLE phenomena - there's no definitive connection between any of them other than they are all things that are seen in the sky.'
To precis then 'UFO Phenomena...(including) INEXPLICABLE PHENOMENA...(are amongst) things that are seen in the sky'.
Such 'INEXPLICABLE phenomena seen in the sky' are by definition the eponymous UNIDENTIFIED 'flying objects' that give the field its name, irrespective of whether Clarke chooses to BELIEVE his own (unproved) theory that these will eventually turn out to be 'natural phenomena - yet to be identified and categorised by scientists'.
Since such inexplicable phenomena have NOT currently been 'identified & categorised by scientists' it may well prove that such anomalies are indeed something else entirely. WE just DON'T KNOW.
He DOES NOT then say 'There is NO UFO phenomenon' he very pointedly states 'there is NO 'ONE' UFO phenomenon - there are lots of UFO phenomena.'
The Channel Islands UFO (link) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjKJ6IY4muU which Clarke & his team investigated, and for which they failed to find any explanation, IS a classic example of 'The UFO Phenomenon' you assert he claims 'does not EXIST'.
The INEXPLICABLE phenomena witnessed by pilots & passengers alike and reported by pilot Ray Bowyer as a 'self-illuminating OBJECT' is by definition a UFO - an UNIDENTIFIED 'flying' (i.e. 'airborne') object which, following Clarke's investigation, remains so (despite him giving us his unscientific and unnecessary 'more accurate' opinion on it.) Classic skeptic - overstepping the boundaries of 'established fact' & undermining his own supposed 'non-bias' by giving his opinion on the case.
Such verifiable cases of unexplained & unidentifed objects reported by credible, qualified professionals are at the core of the supposedly 'non-existent UFO phenomenon' Clarke is actually investigating & attempting to explain (to no avail).
Clarke accepts the factual & corroborated report proves something WAS THERE & WAS SEEN he merely has a difference of opinion as to what this UNIDENTIFIED 'object' was.
Clarke & team presumably continue to investigate such inexplicable UFO encounters because they believe there could well be something more to such cases since surely, no intelligent person in their right mind would waste their valuable time & effort on a subject they KNOW to be a DELUSION?
