UFO Conjectures

The problem(s) with the UFO/ET speculation

Aside from the distance and time factors of space travel – even by an advanced species that has “engi- neered” their way out of the physical conundrums – there are other stip- ulations that endure any suggestion that UFOs are visitors from the stars.

A major consideration is this:

Not only are the creatures of this planet – all fauna and flora – subject to Darwinian evolution, but thought – mental activity – is also a product of its own kind of evolution.

Thinking, while intrinsically determined by the evolutionary strictures of the biological brain, the primary determinants are social modifications, the history and societal interactions of humankind.

Just as the Neanderthal extinction by homo sapiens was a major determinant of human behavior thereafter, all the vicissitudes of survival and interactions enter into the way living species exist on Earth.

The “evolution” of humanity is unique – to this planet – and would not apply or be like any other evolution of thought or behavior elsewhere in the Universe.

Sentient species elsewhere in the cosmos would have their own set of circumstances – and evolution – quite different than human- kinds.

To suggest that ETs are mutilating cattle or checking out nuclear facilities is facile, even ridiculous.

(Of course, if UFOs are from Earth’s future, that’s another matter for speculation.)

But the idea that extraterrestrials would behave or act similarly to human behavior and the projected thinking imposed (projected) upon them is ludicrous in the extreme.

ET thought, craft design, and observational practices – if they were coming here – would be so bizarre that human conjecture about that would be ludicrous, irrational, even insane.

Let me write that those pressing for a UFO/ET explanation are just intellectually fallow.

I am ashamed sometimes to interact with their mental folly.

  • Science laughed at UFOs (and the public's interest) for 70 years, even though there was clear evidence for their existence.

I'm sure there are miles of math equations scratched on physicists' chalkboards having to do with multi-dimensions, time travel, etc. Theories, not evidence.

Do we get to laugh at them?

Where do you go once you set the ETH aside?

  • That's an excellent rejoinder Ron...

Where do we go if the extraterrestrial explanation is set aside? ET advocates have a leg up on those of us not inclined to see alien visitations as the solution to the UFO phenomenon.

I'm stumped, but taking the UFO/ET solution as the answer to the phenomenon is to accept the semi and unconscious brainwashing of that answer falls outside a rational explanation...the overwhelming appearances of UFOs, in the modern era alone, is statistically iffy.

But what are we left with?

There are speculative "answers" but they are even more iffy than an ET solution.

I'm baffled but will not resort to the ET claim even though I liked it for most of my years following the phenomenon's variable presences and "shenanigans."

    What's your preference?

  • The scenarios I can imagine ultimately leave me cold and unconvinced. This is the damnedest subject.

  • Re: the alien angle. This is an interesting story. Alien visitors, or aliens from the planet Kodak?
