UFOs (today) are so unsexy!
Copyright 2018, InterAmerica, Inc.
I (and you too, I bet) remember when UFOs – flying saucers –
had sex appeal. They were sleek (no, not Adamski’s), in the movies (fictive)
and in real life, actuality. (Sorry, Zoam)
And those ETs that debarked from them were often, not
always, attractive: the Nordic types especially.
That was then, this is now: UFOs are just lights in the sky, or as Bryan Daum and a few others describe them, UAP. How dull.
That was then, this is now: UFOs are just lights in the sky, or as Bryan Daum and a few others describe them, UAP. How dull.
Adamski’s Orthon was feminized, appealing to women and
homosexually inclined UFO buffs.
Other contactees, such as Orfeo Angelucci and Truman
Bethurum “encountered” handsome men and “beautiful” women, or so they said.
Truman Bethurum’s female ufonaut (Aura Rhanes):
No UFO witness today encounters anything. UFOs are ephemeral
phenomena or lights scurrying across the sky.
In This Island Earth, the visiting ET craft was almost
sleek, not as nifty as Klaatu’s ship, or as fizzy as Daniel Fry’s reported
sojourner:
Klaatu was the epitome of manhood, handsome, steadfast, and
virile, with a snazzy flying saucer:
Of course we find the mischievous imps who invaded some of
the European countries in the 50s, but they had a sexy patina too, in an obtuse
way. (The ships weren’t very advanced or sleek, quaint mostly.):
Our space ships (rockets) have always had a phallic
demeanor, which is the result of Freuds’ influence on the engineers of our time
and era; even today, Elon Musk is affected:
But UFOs today? Evanescent, amorphous, vapid.

Look at Adamski's saucer again. Don't its various proportions remind you of those theorems in Euclidean geometry, especially those involving circles, lines, tangents etc? Amazing stuff!

Reminds me of a top I used to spin for my kids.

The 1940s discs got an upside down cup (dome) on top of the saucer in 1949; a few years later Adamski added a layer between them. The problem with the plain disc is there is no room for spacemen (or whatever beings you please) which the cup then provided. Adamski (and other contactees) needed portholes, thus the Adamski cathedral-like drum (tholobate) between the disk and dome was added. This may be why Keyhoe needed the plain disc to be pilotless and remotely controlled.
The USAF disc in the 40's did have a cockpit, which they needed for the pilot they imagined.
The ETH is responsible for sexy saucers.

Adamski's ufo looks a lot like the nazi 's Haunebu II.

Might he have confused Nordics with earthly aryans?

RR,
Not dull, intriguing! That's why we are here on this blog of yours.

I hate the UAP designation Bryan...
It turns UFOs into meteorological phenomena.
And it distorts the meme, which will ultimately destroy it, yes?

Phallic symbols with E. Musk's recent Falcon Heavy launch? Rich, your smarter than this. This design for rockets and missiles is purely an aerodynamic design. Ancient Chinese rocketry followed a similar design. A "vaginal" design would not be sustainable (tongue in cheek on my part).
Freud had no influence on aerodynamic engineering, but he did provide good personal anecdotal analysis on the effects of heavy cocaine use, plus setting the tradition of "banging" female student acolytes.

Don't be anti-Freud with me, Tim...I'm a damn acolyte of the man, as you actually know.
Rocket designs -- which I noted tongue-in-cheek -- like other designs, are heavily influenced by man's inordinate obsession with the male sexual member.
(I've cited, before here and elsewhere, how the phallus sneaks into the mores and cultural environment of humanity.)
If rockets are so significant as an aerodynamically engineered design, why are UFOs round like a saucer?
(Nice to hear from you, by the way.)

Rockets are to Saucers as Eggplant emojis are to the peach ones? Is that my takeaway here? :D
