Artificial Intelligence [UFO] machines in the late 1940s and early 1950s:

Looking to see what flying saucer accounts early on in UFO lore (the modern era) might show up via a Google search, I found these postings online:

These credible (authentic) sightings indicate, to me, that some “agency” was examining, close-up, things that the “agency” might think were similar to itself: an AI construct.

Unfortunately for the agency, what it discovered was a deaf/mute/inert object with which it could not communicate.

This, then, led to pursuit(s) of other machine-like or AI-like objects and the flying saucer boom exploded.

But from whence did the “agency” come: outer space, time, our future, another dimension, even some remote site on Earth?

Who knows? But the behavior of the artifacts spotted or recorded suggest intelligence.

Were they Von Neumann-like probes, eventually generating further probes because of the response lack, causing curiosity for the AI machines?

Were the extensive UFO sightings after 1950 the result of an AI panic glitch, not dissimilar to what happens when an insect colony comes across something foreign to the colony?
