Matty left a comment here, in the posting below, offering that I’m a “complainer.”

Stuart Miller, one-time UFO big-shot – he’s now passed, killed in a motorcycle accident a few years ago, sadly….RIP Stuart – under- stood my existential [in the current vernacular use] modus and did an interview with me for his spectacular and also short-lived magazine, scanned here so you can read the cover by mousing over the image:

Paul Kimball, also mentioned in the issue, has always understood (and accepted, I think) my disruptive nature. Nick Redfern and Kevin Randle know who I am, and still remain pals. Rather new friend Erica Lukes gets it. And so does a few others, while some still abhor my behavior and me (personally) – Greg Bishop, for instance, also profiled in Stuart’s magazine, as you can see.

I haven’t tried to fool anyone. I’m a bastard and UFO bitch to some, but I have a few close friends in the UFO community: Bill Murphy and Chris Savia of the Anomalist  and maybe founder Patrick Huyghe too. Zoam Chomsky of course, plus my very close buddy José Caravaca. And a few more and perhaps a few others who maintain contact on Facebook pretty much: Rich Hoffman, Christopher O’Brien and Steve Mera most likely.

And, if you are offended by what I write here, you’ve already left: Phil, Frank Warren, Theo, and numerous others

I take as consolation some remarks about artist Jordan Wolfson in The New Yorker for March 16, 2020 in a profile by Dana Good- year [Page 52 ff.]:

“His attitude is, may the bridges you burn light the way.” [Page 60]

UFOs: Often sunk as the main topic because UFOers go off-topic (digress) egregiously

Matty's comment came from my concern at Provocateur(s) about UFO people going astray from UFOs per se that happen because UFO "researchers" like John Keel took flying saucers into irrelevant realms such as The Mothman sightings or MIBs and UFOers con- tinue to engage in such folly, thinking that such digressions are pertinent and important.

They aren't. They have been the bane of ufology and UFO research ever since and still.

MIBs -- an anecdotal myth -- are not relevant to UFOs (flying saucers), the phenomenon, itself. And other intrusions such as supposed alien abductions or encounters, which are interesting, as I noted to Matty in response, for folklorists and psychologists or sociologists.

Although I've often harped about UFO devotees ignoring clues and minutiae in UFO reports or accounts, clues that lie dormant or are ignored when they might an explanatory path to the phenomenon.

But that isn't my point about the rabid diffusion of important information about UFOs because those in the UFO community often get absorbed by extraneous items that have nothing to do with the UFO phenomenon in its literal existence: MIBs, abductions, odd encounters, et cetera...unless UFOs represent a scrim that indi- cates another reality altogether that we humans are subject to, something that Jose Caravaca addresses in his Distortion Theory.

Matty was making the point that a UFO sighting at a military venue included a misty surround that Matty thinks is a clue we should pay attention to. I agree, but I don't want to go off half-cocked about that misty surround.

It's important but not helpful, informatively, about what UFOs are, essentially.

Getting absorbed by UFOs, or Big Foot, or Nessie or MIBs take us away from the science of UFOs and into the areas of paranormality where all kinds of nonsense prevail, like the pursuits of ghosts or spiritual entities.
