Agreeing with Dominick

Moving along in the Daniel Harran book, I get closer and closer to our buddy Dominick’s distaste for exotic (or stupid) UFO conjectures, including my own.

Dr. Harran’s regurgitation of some John Mack abduction analyses, along with a few that Dr. Harran has gathered from the literature, present, for me, a sickening [sic] feeling of analysis gone very wrong.

That so-called “abduction” accounts, most of them, are based in former or recent sexual assaults is so obvious that Dr. John Mack, with all his psychiatric knowledge, not seeing the obvious, baffles the hell out of me.

That some “experiencers” have endured a kind of malignant sexual encounter and integrated the traumatic experience into a UFO kidnapping account is blatantly clear.

I won’t go into the details that confirm the matter, for me – the examples and, often under hypnosis, recounting of the events makes readers (or hearers) churn with disgust.

That said, Dr. Harran, furthering his idea that UFO events are propagated by elementals or a kind of along-side-us species of long-time mythologies and tales made me remove my suggestion that the “gods” of old could be the UFO culprits. The ideas (mine and Harran’s) rebuke Ockham’s razor and common sense.

UFOs might derive from time, or ETs stationed in a venue closer to us than their home planet or civilization.

And UFOs might come from a parallel universe or dimension but if they contain beings, those beings aren’t coming to Earth (or showing up here) to perform mayhem or even sexual experimentation on human beings.

Human sexuality is unique to Earth’s evolutionary processes, and an intrinsic behavioral pattern of all species on Earth (flora and fauna).

That an ethereal, “hidden” group or advanced extraterrestrial species are enwrapped in a sexual proclivity that predominates in alleged “abduction” accounts goes to Freud’s understanding, and ours, of how humans are obsessed with sexuality, in all things: art, literature, movies, advertising, sport, daily life, everything!

Experiencers and those who are obsessed with their sordid tales becloud the UFO phenomenon.

Dominick has it right: such conjectures – even mine, about the old “gods” still extant and mucking around in UFOs – corrupt the study of UFOs, a manifestation that intrigues but does not titillate, as a few would like us to believe.

I’ve stopped reading Daniel Harran’s book, at Page 69. How appropriate.
