UFO Conjectures

1966 Gulfport, Mississippi UFO/psychological event (from Paul Dean)

This is an example of a UFO "sighting" (placed online by Billy Booth in an About.com forum and retrieved by Paul Dean) that is, in fact, an example of Conversion Hysteria:
The nature of Conversion Hysteria is described in Psychiatric Dictionary [antea citatis] and provides this:

"[Such] dream-states my represent repression, or orgasm, or death-wishes turned against the the ego, or the blocking of an hostile impulse." [Page 367]

The adolescence of the girl pre-supposes the often anxiety-ridden state of those beginning womanhood.

That the girl fixated on a UFO with beings is interesting and perhaps initiated by something sci-fi related but no one asked pertinent questions at the time or investigated further, as has been the sad case of most UFO incidents.

1965 UFO Creature SIghting (from Paul Dean)

What witness of a UFO with three (3) weird creatures would notice that the creatures appeared not to have genitalia?

That a bizarre observation of beings -- any observation! -- of short duration would make note of the genital area of the beings makes the event iffy for me.

(For instance, if a person or persons saw a naked party running away from an assault, robbery, or car accident, et cetera, would they note the private part(s) of that party's anatomy?)

Leslie Kean up the ante on UFOs (and the ETH also, sadly)

Frans Hals and MJ Banias

Our pal, Don, suggested that the curious image of my UFO and Facebook buddy MJ Banias (seen here from MJ's FB posting) may have reminded me of a Frans Hals portrait:
And there are some Hals portraits that do remind me of MJ:

Even one without the moustache (or "beard"):
Then, while looking through Google's raft of Hals portraits, I found related images and this one by one of my favorite artists, Caravaggio:
Add the moustache and chin fuzz and we have a youthful MJ....but all the portraits don't quite add up to what I recall as a portrait that is spot on, so the hunt continues.

MJ likes the attention, writing that any publicity is good publicity (or something like that).
