The Decline of (not only) the West but of humankind itself

Oswald Spengler’s classic work, The Decline of the West,
molded my thinking that caused me to challenge Bryan Sentes’ crazy optimum that
Australia’s Aborigenal culture was as worthy of consideration as the cultures
delineated by Spengler and academic historians…

Sentes was wrong, as usual, taking quaint primitive lifestyles as comparable to the cultures defined by Spengler and others.
This has nothing to do with the Aborigines peoples, but only their cultural stasis, which is now pretty much as it was 40,000 years ago.
Spengler’s declining cultures, along with Jung’s observations about the declining Age of Enlightenment stoke me and others to note how badly civilization is now, at the 2022 year of measurement.
Literary magazines and periodicals keep relocating to the lost eras of fiction and non-fiction, while trying to salvage a few good words for today’s output. They fail to make a case.
The same is true for music and art, and most of culture.
And how does this impact Ufology or the (lame) culture of UFO enthusiasm?
The UFO scene is awash in scatterbrained chatter, hypothetical speculation, even my own.
UFO fan(atics) are grabbing photos of anything that’s aloft, and shivering as they take their sightings to social media.
People are claiming mass abductions and any reference to UFOs is now bracketed with the alien appendage.
If you’re paying attention to newscasts, you’re aware that society is amiss and generally pathologic.
The UFO environment reflects that pathology, participants and enthusiasts aloft in fairyland, besotted by the AATIP videos and the idea that UAP is a scientific euphemism.
While the whole of the modern culture – our era – is loopier in its few thousand years of historical time than the millions of years given to our primitive species, that small, fringe segment of society to which this blog is dedicated, is awash in nonsense that almost challenges the rest of society – the culture – it intrudes upon.
The UFO phenomenon has become a pastiche of madness – as I keep boringly pointing out.
And no one is struggling to rein it in….no one.
