Annunaki and other bullsh*t

While beginning this piece (originally meant to deal with how hard it is for UFO people to look at and think about the real reality), History’s Ancient Alien show’s Saturday segment (a repeat) was about Stonehenge and primitive settlements.

Then the show’s ubiquitous David Childress pops up offering his favorite extraterrestrial race: The Annunaki, peoples from the time of the Sumerian civilization.

Childress and his Ancient Alien cohorts love the sound of the word Annunaki it seems.

When I hear the word, and right before I barf, I snap off the television.

I’m sick of hearing about the Annunaki and the supposed extraterrestrial visitations that helped make or actually made what archaeologists have found or study: primitive social sites and other megalithic structures.

But this ludicrous thinking is merely a subset of the ever-present mind-clouding idea that UFOs are extraterrestrial craft and extraterrestrials are obsessed with our planet, Earth, and have been or are visiting, in large recurring numbers, this backwater dot in the cosmos.

Then there is the minor, minor UFO subset that flying saucers crashed near Roswell and some of the left-over debris from those flimsy ET crafts are circulating among a few UFO carpetbaggers: Robert Bigelow, Linda Mouton Howe, Tom DeLonge, and other fantasy-prone UFO aficionados.

Enough already.

No more Annunaki mentions, please, or crashed saucers that can handle the vicissitudes of space but not the cloudy skies of Earth.

And enough about extraterrestrial debris metal. (An advanced ET species would very likely be flying craft built with exotic materials that are nowhere near in essence as metal-debris built craft that makes up human flying objects.)

And building structures from stone with highly advanced tools when a truly advanced species would build structures like their craft – from indestructible materials of a kind, unique and remarkable in ways that humans could barely, if at all, understand.

Enough.
