UFO Conjectures

May not be popular in some UFO circles but do get attention at this site....

Frank Mannor about his 1966 Ann Arbor/Dexter sighting, and an insert of Donald Keyhoe about the ET explanation

My personal newspaper (which I still have, crease and all):

Frank Mannor became unhappy and reclusive because of the idiotic behavior of people who harassed him and his family about his sighting.

The DeBrief's take on the NASA panel meeting 5/31

Data, data everywhere (especially as a verbal ploy for wannabes)

It’s obvious that since the COVID “pandemic” the application of the word “data” has become ubiquitous among persons using it to give a halo of expertise to whatever nonsense they are spouting.

Data are speckles of elemental information but not total information.

Measurement and observation may provide accents to a totality of what is being sought or researched but there are other factors that are just as important and not “data” per se.

Examples of non-data but relevant information:

The character of the “observer” or researcher

What was the tenor of the observer or researcher – bias (if any)

What substance had they ingested or not

The environment (interferences – the Chair of the NASA panelists told of an incident where an opened microwave door during lunch by examiners of a FRB caused the astronomers to find flashes which had nothing to do with the FRB but were interference from the microwave.

And other elements that factor into observation – like the AATIP video which when taken apart showed the object's perspective was deceiving because the “object” was garnered over moving water giving an impression of speed that didn’t really exist.

My point? Data is part of research but not the essence of research. Information in toto is what real researchers or real scientists employ.
