The race to prominence and irrationality in the UFO world

Several YouTube notifications popped up on my TV last night
[3/25]:
One by John Godier (a Ron favorite) insisting that “researchers” should study past UFO reports and accounts, because they will find patterns and other information that will define the UFO problem (offering an explanation of the phenomenon).
Doing so won’t.
(Isaac Koi, who continues his Herculean collection of all past papers, magazines, ‘zines, bulletin sheets, and every other paper-oriented draft about flying saucers or UFOs, will die, noted by some as a boon to the study of UFOs. The papers he’s collected and will continue to collect in his OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) endeavor shall rot away in storage, as few are actually considering them now as worthy of study, most seeking a thrill from reading a few obscure notes about a weird sighting or encounter, gathered by an obscure collector of UFO detritus. A sorry endeavor all round and rather sad actually.)
Then there was a Chris Lehto video about the ice-formed “comet” some are saying was the Avi Loeb interstellar object, Oumuamua, Lehto professing that his UAP study team will be starting a run at collecting meteor fragments and running equipment to gather “data” on objects flying in the sky, hoping to measure and deter- mine if the flying things are producing air-bursts or fire balls in lieu of flying friction-free, something Lehto thinks will tell his group if the things are a bona fide UAP [sic] or just a plain old object from space – a meteor apparently, which Lethto seems obsessed by lately.
(Lehto also offered commentary on the Mother Ship dispensing UFOs from an anchored spot at the edge of our Solar System….a hot news item that showed up the past week before sinking into journalistic limbo once it was determined Avi Loeb never said it.)
The desire to be prominent in the UFO world gathers a new batch of wannabes daily. Why?
Being a top dog in Ufology, once considered a tin-hat endeavor, is now embraced by persons who should know better: being a big shot in UFO circles is akin to being the King Loony in a mental hospital.
There is no good in being hailed as the keeper of old UFO publi- cations or a searcher of meteors thought to be UFO debris or a guy investing a million dollars dredging for a piece of skyfall into the ocean. It’s a lot of hooey.
The U.S. government knows what UFOs are, as do other govern- ments, so all the efforts by UFO [or UAP] wannabes may be likened to Cinderella collecting the remnants of her ugly sisters while waiting for a Prince to take her away from the rubble to glorious heights of human transcendence.
I’m seeing more fools exhausting their lives in nonsense than I’ve ever seen in all the years of following the flying saucer folly.
It’s irrationality and madness on a grand scale, insanity run amok.
