Don’t get me wrong about Facebook

I’m still involved with Elizabeth Warren’s and Verge’s breakup Facebook movements.

And while I have a rather heavy presence on the social media site and find oodles of good and often great stuff about UFOs, art, music, and almost everything else, the venue is full of effluvia and banal detritus galore.

The UFO groups offer much that is current with the topic and lots of older material that everyone interested in the phenomenon should know.

But everyone on Facebook, including me, thinks they’re a comedian or profferers of great thought and editors of magnificent material.

The site reeks of an abomination of emotion and thought. Sifting through the fluff and/or sh*t is often a chore and mentally dismembering.

 Some of – many even – among the UFO crowd shower readers with sheer ballast and material that is inane or worse.

But if you have the patience or wherewithal you can find much that is efficacious or helpful. (I try to provide some of that here when I come across it there.)

But after all is said and done, the good stuff along with the bad disappears each day into the great Facebook maw, no longer available or searchable….it just goes away.

And when Facebook goes under, and it will, personal pages will also depart, and all the effort of those who’ve gathered the refinements of culture and science – and UFOs – will find themselves awash in regret, starting over elsewhere, too late to matter.
