UFOs: InterDimensionality and the Multiverse

The possibility (speculation) that UFOs are intrusions from a universe that intersects with ours is palpable.

That another dimension is the source of UFOs also gets standing here.

The belief that UFOs are interplanetary craft can’t be ruled out but, for all the reasons long noted in this blog, the ET explanation rests somewhere down the list of answers for UFO “visitation.”

Yet, as remote as extraterrestrial visitation by an advanced species off the Earth is, it isn’t ruled out by me. It just makes little sense, if there is any validity for all the accounts (reports) of flying saucers and/or UFOs that permeate ufological lore.

For an advanced, thinking civilization to expend so much time and effort (resources) to explore, willy-nilly, this planet is mitigated by the sobriquets “advanced” and “thinking.”

The essentially benign UFO “invasion(s),” for so many years, make no sense.

But a slippage from a dimension next to ours or a sampling from another universe that abuts ours does make sense.

Such reconnoitering would answer the concerns that some UFO buffs engage in: the worry by UFO entities about atomic mischief or blunder, which would, it seems, impact an existence tied to ours, or adjacent to it, more so than an atomic catastrophe or use by us could or would impact a planet (civilization) many light-years away.

The idea(s), from theoretical physicists, about other dimensions or universes are as valid as the stupefying conjecture that our existence started, ex nihilo, from an infinitesimal point: The Big Bang.

Noted physicist Brian Greene has a go at the idea of the Many World(s) interpretation in his book The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time, and the Texture of Reality [Borzoi Books, Alfred A Knopf., NY, 2004]:

“[In] the Many Worlds interpretation, the concept of ‘the universe’ is enlarged to include innumerable ‘parallel universes’ – innumerable versions of our universe – so that anything that quantum mechanics predicts could happen … does happen …this gargantuan, infinite network of universes, each one populated by copies of you and me and everyone else who is still alive.” [Page 204]

And Dave Goldberg, professor of physics at Drexel University in The Universe in the Rearview Mirror: How Hidden Symmetries Shape Reality [Dutton/Penguin, NY, 2013] writes:

“… everything outside our [universal] horizon is a separate universe [which] means that, like it or not, we’re living in a multiverse …” [Page 83]

Theoretical physicist Leonard Susskind who, with Yoichiro Nambu, discovered string theory in 1969, writes in The Cosmic Landscape: String Theory and the Illusion of Intelligent Design [Little, Brown and Company, NY, 2006]:

“ … nature somehow makes use of all possibilities. Is there a natural mechanism that would have populated a megaverse with all possible environments, turning them from mathematical possibilities to physical realities? This is what an increasing number of theoretical physicists believe – myself included.” [Page 294]

Okay, I hear you yawning, but these observations by the high priests of physics open the door to the possibility that Earth (us) may exist right up against other worlds or another world that has learned how to access us, or gains access by accident.

This would allow for paranormal incidents and UFOs, which slip into view here, then disappear, as is often the case according to witnesses.

The purposeful appearance of UFOs, or inadvertent appearance, is easier to conceive of than a bevy of extraterrestrials seeking this remote planet from galaxies or parts of the universe far strung, and surrounded by wonders that outshine Earth no matter now much we think that our planet and we are “celebrities” in the great scheme of things.
