Philosophy: nothing to do with UFOs (or even UAP)

This book – The Kingdom of Darkness by Dimitri Levitin [Cambridge University Press, 980 pages, $99.99] – is reviewed, by Stephen Gaukroger (author of The Failures of Philosophy) in TLS [Times Literary Supplement], September 23, 2022, Page 11 ff. begins thusly:
 
“The standing of Philosophy changed radically in the second half of the seventeenth century. Its central role in European intellectual culture began to diminish, coming to a head in the eighteenth century, with David Hume’s attack on the aspirations of metaphysics.”
 
The book – also reviewed by me at my two review sites, online – confirms that philosophy is defunct, and using the processes of it for UFO study is ridiculous, just as mathematics and archived renderings of old sightings are.
 
Persons subjecting UFO enthusiasts to philosophical ramblings are wasting our time and intelligence to augment their attempt at being thought scholarly or academic. They aren’t.
 
UFOs can be studied in a number of ways – almost all technical or neurologically – but not with the tools of human thought about morality or ethics or even that of metaphysics.
 
The UFO mystery is sustained by its enigmatic nature, and the fruits of philosophical thought or mathematical gyrations or perusal of old flying saucer reports will not unlock its mystery.
 
The ET nature of UFOs is a product of sci-fi brainwashing and the ongoing belief by non-thinking UFO aficionados who take the extraterrestrial solution to bed with them because they are unable to think outside-the-media-suffused box that has enveloped the phenomenon since its overt appearance.
 
So, skip any renderings here or elsewhere that have a philosophical tinge. That is a waste of your time and mental acuity.
