What is the meaning of ….UFOs? Life? Anything?

Those of us seeking an explanation of UFOs are near the bottom of the ladder when it comes to worthwhile activities; not at the bottom, but near it.

The ultimate question remains: What is the purpose of our existence?

Even discovering the essence of UFOs doesn’t answer that question. It may help but doesn’t seem capable of informing us of our purpose on Earth, our reason for living.

From the beginning of the historical record, and even before it, as best as we can discern, human existence, like that of the dinosaurs, and pre-human mammalian eras, life is without meaning.

Science, especially medicine, works to ease the excruciating details of biological or mental human misery: cancers, debilitating pain, excruciating bodily flaws, and neurological mischief, to name a few.

But to what effect? Inhibiting or curing human illnesses only provides prolonging life, nothing more.

Is humankind here to maintain the planet? For what or whom?

Is mankind here to provide Art, Music, Literature, Dance, Archi- tecture and other Cultural artifacts? For whom, ultimately? Such pleasure that incurs from cultural endeavors salves the human mind, but does little else, beyond the emotional pleasure. Life deteriorates, and any cultural pleasure derived during life deteriorates and dissipates at death, for everyone.....everyone.

Those who enjoy or are enhanced by such aesthetic endeavors only find pleasure in them for a finite time.

Even if visitors to Earth, via UFOs if you will, provide methods to ensure or create human immortality, to what purpose, for what reason?

If Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, et cetera tells us one thing, that would be humans are, generally, as a creation, banal, insipid, mad (insane).

To cure cancer, or prevent illness and disease are activities that help humans through their short duration on Earth. That’s tempo- rally worthwhile. After all, everything dies.

To win a game of sport, that short-lived feat, is meaningless in the great scheme of things. Such a conquest – pathetic as it is – brings pleasure, of a kind, for a moment then becomes a memory, to what purpose? One dies, and the memory is gone, even group memory fades.

Discovering what a flying saucer is or was may bring joy, but only for a moment. The explanation, the unraveling of the enigma takes us nowhere, even if there are advanced intelligent beings piloting those alleged crafts who know how to prolong our human lives or make it better.

We, as long-living creatures, might continue to eat, enjoy well-being, engage in procreating other humans, play the piano, paint a picture, make viral a mundane photo we’ve taken, but for what purpose – just to do such facile things?

The final assessment of life is that it is impermanent and final, in its human form.

We are made of dust and to dust we shall return, so you people who believe that extraterrestrials will be saviors of mankind, humanity, are as mad as Alice’s Hatter.

Continue to pursue the UFO mystery, but don’t expect anything transcendental or transformational to come from your endeavors.

You (and I) and many more will die, sooner or later, and that’s it.
