Ancient aliens or actually “gods”?

In the opening hour of the History Channel’s
contrived Ancient Alien (Astronaut) series, Friday night [10/22] I found
that by substituting the word “gods” for “visitors from the skies” or
“extraterrestrial visitors,” the series would have a veracity that is elusive
in its present format and presentations.
I’m pressing – despite some pushback from a few here (and elsewhere) – for the idea that, as I note in my Substack pages, there was an historical period when there lived on Earth, among humans (and still do perhaps) a race of beings, Earth-born and evolved who came into being differently from the ape families, from which we reading this belong
And those Earth-beings, while related to their hominid brothers and sisters, developed along lines that outstripped their primate kin came to be seen as apart and above the whole of mankind, eventually tagged by scholars as mythological gods.
But this race of mankind, while unique in development and thought, mingled with primate humans and aided them in developing civilizations or societies, beginning in Sumeria and eventually across the world, in Meso-America, India, et al. which the AA show concentrated on.
My caveats? Where did these “gods” come from?
Evolutionary? That would need a Darwinian subset or a new creative approach.
From a “Designer”? I’m okay with that but most (here) don’t like the idea, it presumes a God.
From extraterrestrial seeding? That’s as ludicrous as the AA theorist's suggestion that ETs were the entities noted in human myth and history, and the beings who left examples of their handiwork across the globe.
(For me, the idea of extraterrestrials visiting this inconsequential planet is a remote possibility. Even time-travelers or usurpers from a parallel universe is improbable.)
Nope. The evidence for a unique human species is palpable – see my Substack pages for examples. This special species are the “gods” of myth, and remnants of them may still be extant, as I try to prove elsewhere.
The AA theorist views are interesting. It’s just that they have the wrong premise: ETs visited here in the past. But their “evidence” makes my point,
RR
