Folie a deux (among UFO witnesses and UFO sycophants)
I'll be presenting a few UFO "events" that may be explained by folie a deux (as explained above) -- the Betty.Barney Hill episode and Pascagoula encounter -- along with some examples of milder (yet psychotic) forms exampled by some followers of various UFO writers and notables.
A great number of UFO sightings and incidents are psychosis induced, but long after their aftermath, UFO enthusiasts adopt neurotic and/or psychotic attachments to popular adherents of UFOs, much in the way that patients of psychiatrists or psychoanalysts become attached to their doctors.
There is an adverse substrate of psychological disturbance in ufology and among its practitioners.
I think an examination of that disturbance will clarify many UFO sightings while showing that those studying UFOs are enablers of the obvious madness that the UFO topic engenders.
