Josh Gates: Expedition Unknown

The Discovery Channel, on Halloween night [10/31/20] re-ran, the Expedition X series, with Josh Gates, about Gates’ extra- terrestrial search (which I hadn’t seen before).

Gates is an affable host and has no absolute belief in extra- terrestrial UFOs but remains open-minded I think.

Among the several shows aired, Gates provided some video(s) of stone carvings in an Easter Island underwater cavern; the carvings like many found (and often presented by the Ancient Alien crowd): the round-headed, big-eyed entities.

Gates “demolished” the light-house explanation for the 1980 Rendlesham incident(s) and re-interviewed, with The Phenomenon’s James Fox, the Ariel school witnesses, showing their drawings, from the time of the sighting (1994).

He also offered Nick Pope and Kevin Randle about the Roswell incident, Pope, moderate as usual and Kevin going through a forensic examination of the Ramey memo with some different interpretations of words discerned.

(An experiment augmenting the Panspermia hypothesis of a Sheffield professor was anti-climactic as was a sighting of lights above a forest area in rural America, but always spicy by Gates’ asides and humor.)

The re-airings ended with a clip from the Easter Island episode that had gone unnoticed until one of his cameramen caught it during a review of the film taken there: a UFO speeding by, overhead and taking a sharp turn before fading from view.

Expedition X, on Discovery, resumes with new airings November 11th.

This show with the Science Channel’s Contact offering, I recently “reviewed,” are rather good, not sensationalized but moderate, with reputable, well-known UFO investigators.

Also, the UFO abductee phenomenon – a neurological/psychological symptom, as I see it, not overplayed, if played at all.

(With the COVID-19 quarantine forcing many of us to see “entertainments,” such as the TV shows recently covered by my restless search for something to view during reading recesses, indicate that not all TV presentations are as foolish as the History Channel’s MUFON efforts or those intellectually bilious Ancient Astronaut fictions.)
