Facebook is making blogs and web-sites extinct?

I see why UFOers find Facebook so much more “entertaining” and interesting: people respond there and give attention to UFO stories, old and new, and those who provide them.

With a lack of comments here, I, too, get immediate and pertinent attention by a lot of UFO notables and enthusiasts at Facebook, and many are worthwhile, relevant, even funny.

This is a worry for me. Why?

The great maw of Facebook, where posted material ends up, is hard, impossible maybe, to access to find material that once appeared upfront on a person's Facebook page.

This happened with a Hynek quote I saw but couldn’t find to save my soul. (Bryan Sentes, fortunately, searched the internet [web] and came up with is, which allowed me to put it online here.)

The Facebook postings may is troublesome. If we end up putting all UFO info online there, what happens when Facebook folds, and it will one day, like MySpace, Friendster, et al.

UFO material will go the way of Hawking's Black Hole information, kaput. (or virtually impossible to obtain).

Anyway, I’m enjoying the Facebook UFO community right now. When Facebook dies, I’ll deal with that then.

So, no or few comments here mean little to me, and obviously to lurkers here.
