A 1970 Encounter (with attending clues as to what UFOs are?)

The sighting referenced above, a favorite of a one-time or present reader here, is not atypical of some UFO sightings/encounters up and into the 1970s.
After that, such events have died off to where there is nary any episodes like this one nowadays.
When you read the account via the link (above), you should be intrigued, despite a few Adamski asides -- the description of the "saucer" observed and a later sexual incident, by one of the original witnesses to the 1970 sighting, allegedly with a spacewoman and a meet-up with an entity resembling Adamski's 1950ish Venusian.
Because of the illnesses the witnesses incurred and the ubiquitous black box that often appeared in other early flying saucer encoun- ters involving humanoid beings, one finds sustaining details that provide a scintilla of interest, if not truth, by the two men who had the experience.
The black box emitting a light -- ray -- that immobilized or caused later illness is also part of many reported UFO events and listed diligently by Albert Rosales in his series (and on his web-site), Humanoid Encounters, which I often mention here and find wor- thy of scrutiny despite the reservations of a hot-headed European skeptic.
I originally suggested that the episode was a folie à deux, and I still see it that way, but also accept the sighting as a possible real observation that created a psychological trauma that built into a folie à deux.
The reported story doesn't seem to be fictive or a hoax, yet it ended up being seen as troublesome by Scandinavian UFO re- searchers pretty much.
But as the writer of the account (in the link) puts it, about the disbelief -- "probably the failure of UFO researchers to understand the phenomenon for what it really is (an understanding that I feel is still a long way off for us all)" -- we have a statement that fits most thinking about those early UFO "encounters."
Yes, those later supposed contacts of one witness makes for a hard-sell that the sighting was actual but José Caravaca's Distortion Theory might provide an explanation for those and the original event.
Anyway, your thoughts would be appreciated.
