UFO Conjectures

Let’s enjoy the old UFO stories/reports but not expect them to provide an explanation of or for UFOs

I am truly befuddled, by lots of things, but mostly at the insistence by most of you visiting here that a (deep?) study of old, iconic and otherwise UFO accounts contain, within them, a solution to the enigmatic phenomenon….even after an almost 80 year scrutiny by so-called ufologists, some eminent, some just goofy.

The recent capture of a guy who stabbed to death 4 Idaho students came about, not because the cops looked back at old murders; the police used DNA tracking and a 2022 approach to finding the killer.

When Ukraine forces decimated a Russian squadron of Russkie soldiers the other day, they didn’t read old war records of the Napoleonic battles or the diaries of Rommel from WW II, They used modern weaponry and 2023 stealth and skills of warfare.

The only sensible stance I got about the old UFO stories as grist for UFO denouement came from my pal Anthony Bragalia this past weekend.

He still pursues the Roswell incident and is even reckoning with new material about his Socorro hoax speculation. But he under- stands that any solution to what really happened within those classic UFO cases is long gone – many witnesses and participants now dead and the earlier cases botched by UFO “investigators” who didn’t know what the hell they were doing or how to do it.

Those of you calling for new re-reads of old UFO tales are not about to re-invigorate any study of them.

You just like the idea that the early reports are grist for missed clues, even though I offered the suggestion of Jacques Derrida to seek truth outside of texts, the texts only a basis for moving forward toward the truth of hidden things –- the text submissive to many oblique asides, some hidden, some secret, some impercep- tible, and some without any chance of providing their secrets.

The AATIP-involved pilots used modern technology to come to some conclusions that provide insight as to what the things they chased in the sky are.

They didn’t look back to Chiles-Whitted for aerodynamic informa- tion. They (and pilots generally) have moved much beyond those days of yore where eyesight was the primary instrument of discern- ment.

So, again, move onward and upward my Luddite pals. This is 2023 and UFOs are. perhaps, even beyond that year in reality.
