Lost UFO stories, some with interesting content

The August 1965 issue of Ray Palmer’s Flying Saucers magazine, pictured here, had, as part of Palmer’s magazine format, a raft of flying saucer reports culled from news media, gathered by George D. Fawcett.
The small magazine contained noted writers, such as Jerome (Jerry) Clark and Brinsley Le Poer Trench.

In the “What’s the Latest on Those Flying Saucers?” reports, gathered by Fawcett, I find several that intrigue:

December 13, 1964 – Montrose, Colorado. A state highway patrolman, Tom Linquist photographed  a round object with definite markings. Montrose Press. [Where is the photo?]

December 29, 1964 – Patuxent Naval Air Base, Maryland. Two UFOs on radar traveling 4,800 mph, executed a right turn as they approached the base, then disappearing from radar. Seattle Post Intelligencer.

January 19, 1965 – Brand’s Flats, Virginia. Two “saucers” – one 20 foot and one 80 foot – landed near an archery range, with three humanoid beings about three feet tall in shiny space suits, uttering unintelligible sounds. Waynesboro News Virginian.

January 23, 1965 – Rocky Hill, Connecticut. A 10 year old reported to parents he saw a round shaped, white object, ringed in black, about 4 feet in diameter with a window in the center. It made a whistling sound.. Hartford Courant.

January 30, 1965 – Manresa Beach, California – TV repairman (Sid Patrick) reported the landing of a “spacecraft.”  He had a conversation with the nine-man crew of outer-space visitors. San Francisco News Call Bulletin.

March 4, 1965 – Retired longshoreman John F. Reeves reported a 30 foot, 6 foot thick, two-windowed saucer with four legged landing gears accompanied by a five foot robot-like creature with a canvas-like suit and glass domed helmet that left strange footprints in the ground. Reeves took three photographs of the “robot.” Miami Herald, Tampa Times, and Orlando Sentinel. [Where are the photos?]

March 14, 1965 – James W, Flynn while camping and training dogs in the Everglades encountered a landed bright yellow colored cone that emitted a loud whirring noise and had four tiers of windows around its side. He was suddenly knocked unconscious by a strange force. When he regained consciousness, the cone was gone leaving a black, oily surface where it had rested. Flynn suffered eye damage. NICAP “UFO Investigator,” March/April 1965 issue.

How do we explain (or understand) such bizarre tales as those above? Were they spawned from the 1965 socially disrupted milieu (causing hallucinations and/or hysteria)?

Or did strange things actually takeplace, as reported?

And where are the pieces of “evidence” noted?
