A UFO crew of five flabbergasted the witness

Paul Dean sent this along, correcting the headline date of 1955 to 1954, the alleged year of the sighting:
This is the account, from the above, where a witness describes her observation of "men" seen inside the dome of the craft she saw:
That virtually no UFO sighting today has accounts of "entities" or beings accompanying the thing seen in the sky, usually just an odd light, tells us that the phenomenon has either diminished in intensity and character or witnesses have become shorn of societal (cold war?) hysteria.

The ups and downs of UFO reports are grist for evaluation of a serious kind, within various disciplines.

No one has tackled the matter accordingly, in an academic manner, only in a superficial way. This leaves open the door for a UFO investigator/writer with the acumen and energy to provide a study that enlightens humanity about its latent fantasies and tendency to be "mad" as the circumstances of their existence intrude on them.

Attack of the Paranormalists!

I mentioned here, recently, that there are a few in the UFO community who are trying to make UFOs a part of their paranormal interests and alleged abnormal experiences.

That is, these people want to categorize UFOs among things that go bump in the night.

UFOs are a special phenomenon (phenomena?) to which concentration is needed to decipher the enigma, “research,” so far, having been pathetic and discursive.

We don’t need more diversionary attempts by intellectual ne’er-do-wells.

I am at the brink of naming these defectors but hesitate as some are former pals who’ve gone over to the dark side to keep (forlorn) membership in the fringe lump of “ufologists” who haven’t made it in UFO circles so they’ve branched out to snag notoriety among that larger group of hebetudinists who believe in ghosts and daily will-o'-the-wisps.

These are not just blockheads but a gaggle of nasty blokes who think they are the elite of ufology when they are only members of the UFO backwaters, trying to force others to see their predilections as brilliant when those predilections are merely mangy and ill-thought-out.

One has appeared on The Paracast recently and had a crony on his own internet offering that pretends to be a “radio show.”

My warning here is this: beware of UFO scamps who try to sway you into a kind of thinking that is befuddled and mired in a self-serving need for glory and a modicum of fame, at the expense of truth and objectivity,

They are out to make us all into puppets to their imbecility.
