Betty/Barney Hill information I never knew

In the Billig book, noted here (below), Dr. Billig, on Pages 29/30, writes that the Hills, when they had their experience, were returning from a visit to Betty Hill’s sister where they had been discussing flying saucers (as Betty’s sister had allegedly seen one years earlier).

This spurred, Dr. Billig suggests, the incident that the Hills supposedly had when they saw a strange light in the sky while driving home from the familial visit.

Also, the two hours of “missing time” the Hills said they lost in their travel home was caused by them leaving the main highway, taking back roads, to avoid further contact by the thing they saw and which they say kidnapped them.

Dr. Billig’s book takes a psychological bent in many UFO/flying saucer tales, although I’m only partially into his work and expect a more temperate slant eventually.

He does suggest that stress and other pathologies are responsible for some flying saucer incidents, something that Dvelys also broached in a comment here.

The book is almost an addendum to his mentor’s UFO tome, Carl Jung’s Flying Saucer book.

Billig notes that the common thinking that Jung believed in the reality of UFOs (flying saucers) is not exactly the case, and Jung’s real view(s) have not been generally distributed or well-known.
