UFOs and God?

Two books that interest me and I’m reading at the moment. Why? They take us into some of the reality that impacts the UFO argument(s):

The Ancient Alien/Astronaut crowd insists that ancient humans mistook interplanetary visitors, via UFOs (flying saucers), for gods.

But where did the idea(s) of gods or God originate anyway?

The books noted here accept the concept of gods and God as a given, neither telling us where the idea of gods originated or how. That comes from Julian Jaynes (and others).

But any view of God or gods are pretty much eschewed by UFOers, particularly when it comes to the UFO debate.

But the current conversations about we humans living in a simulation is a technological imbued uptick of the Deterministic belief; that is, life is determined by fate or God and no one has free will.

Where AA theorists go wrong is placing a theological overlay upon a bizarre, technologically difficult intervention by extraterrestrials that has no proof or provable evidence.

So, I (like many of you) are stuck with the view that God or gods remain intact as an underlying belief or mythology unique to the only intelligent species we know: us.

The books above, that I’m currently reading, along with one I plundered here a while back – Kugel’s The Great Shift – don’t help us discern a God-reality. They just tell us that humanity (ancient humans) believed in Gods, but nothing about how those beliefs originated.

I’m trying to determine whether UFOs fall into the same category as the God argument: who believes in them, how did those beliefs originate and do UFOs impact humans in the same way that the belief in gods or God affected humankind.

Is there a great simulator (who could be labeled God) creating the reality we find ourselves in? Are UFOs a riddle-inspired creation of this simulator?

Can UFOs offer a clue or clues to our reality or even clues that are religion-like: is there a God or gods maintaining the cosmos and our small part in it? And do UFOs have some part in any of that?

 I am convinced of the possibility that UFOs are the product of the manifestation of a signal from an unknown dimension contained within our reality that we can only perceive under certain conditions.

And it is very likely that this signal can be decoded and interpreted by our psyche to obtain information about some issues inherent to our human species, the conception of the universe or even the reality around us.

What happens is that our psyche decodes this signal according to certain socio-cultural patterns, which we have assimilated, building an artificial reality of a markedly supernatural nature (mainly due to our fear, ignorance and amazement at the irruption of these apparitions), which has given rise to many myths, religions and folklore in different parts of the world.

The supernatural reality is in fact a construction of our mind to try to interpret, that if, in a wrong way, the signal emitted from this cognitive cosmos. But it would not be an illusion or a mere hallucination, since obviously, we are witnessing the construction of an enormous psychic architecture that contains both elements provided by the witnesses as aspects of this dimension.

And sometimes the conjunction of both universes can lead to the ephemeral and fleeting materialization of that reality imposed by our particular socio-cultural filters.
