The UFO phenomenon continues to play with us....

That Google Alert I just linked to (below) sums up the current UFO/UAP situation: bonkers!

And UFO enthusiasts are not being helpful, as usual.

Bemused cartoons, philosophical approaches to the enigma, conferences for camaraderie, blogs (including this one), web-sites, DeBriefs, podcasts, TV programming, likes and dislikes in social media and the whole shebang of UFO flotsam merely make the matter worse.

The U.S. DoD's alleged study groups and that loopy FOIA thing are frosting on a mad hatter's cake.

We can continue to play along -- as most will -- or we can step aside and get at the phenomenon in some way that sidesteps the ongoing nonsense.

I've switched off the old UFO crowd, geezers and mid-lifers and have eschewed the crazies pushing their own agendas.

If anyone here has a suggestion for winnowing the topic down to its essential ingredients, minus the animal mutilation stories, the abduction fables (that Anthony Bragalia snagged in his latest online effort), the false security issues that the U.S. military pretends to be attached to, and the ancient alien goofiness that has claimed the minds of the great unwashed, drop some hints here.

I'll underwrite any effort that doesn't have the halo of madness attached.
