Moira McGhee's UFOs: Now and Then

Martin asked me if he should buy this book that I've noted here a few times.

Reading it last night, I see that Ms. McGhee, a "credentialed" ufologist based in Australia, leans heavily upon the Ancient Alien or Astronaut belief system.

Her opening Chapter loads up on many of the AA hypotheticals, some of which are interesting but actually lie totally in a speculative sphere, and are devoid of scientific or factual substance.

And she allows commentary from friends who extol fringe elements that prick UFO analysis with foolishness.

Yet, she gets into many unknown or little know UFO sightings later on in her 330 page book.

Those esoteric reports will be new to many, including me, so for the price of the book -- $20 -- I can overlook the author's spree with the AA nonsense, some of which intrigue much as fairy tales do.
