Ancient Alien Theorists’ Old Fashioned Astronauts

As much as it distresses me to watch the History Channel’s Ancient Alien series, I do catch it when it’s on, as I did for the Saturday night (8/24/19) rerun airing.

And again the suggestion (which I’ve touched on a few times here) that the statues and petroglyphs, appearing on primitive and ancient walls (cave art), represent images of ancient astronauts as seen by the peoples of those times.

What is disturbing is that the ancient drawings, according to Ancient Astronaut/Alien theorists, are showing visitors from other worlds who are wearing astronaut gear that was common to the 1930s/1940s/1950s Sci-fi genre in magazines and movies and the NASA gear of the 1960s/1970s, hardly outer space wear of an advanced species, thousands of years ahead of us when it comes to space travel.

This is only one example of the goofy stretch of speculation that the AA theorists engage in, but it is an egregious flaw in their conjectures about visitors from the skies, the cosmos, who supposedly worked with and helped humanity with its evolution.
