Psychopathology (and UFOs)

Copyright 2022, InterAmerica, Inc.

Guests (of my son Josh) at the lake house (pictures online at one of my FB pages) for the holiday include a psychotherapist who’s about to have published a book about psychopathology in society today. (I’ll get a copy for review.)

I tried to engage her about men- tal disturbance among the UFO community but she didn’t bite, saying that’s a whole topic unto itself.

(No one I’m tied to socially is interested in UFOs (or UAP) at all. Even local news media is uninterested, passing on some recent sightings here in the boonies.)

This blog and my writings elsewhere are preaching to the choir, as is most commentary now that the AATIP videos have become com- monplace and pretty much quiescent in UFO circles.

Dr. Wells, our lake guest, is writing for her colleagues and aca- demics, not for the public and certainly doesn’t expect a best-seller.

And writing about UFO psychopathic behavior doesn’t sit well with those reading this,

(I set up a private blog spot but had to change it because of tech- nical glitches. And in so doing I eschewed my original invitees and have just settled, so far, on only two fellows here that I’ll be choosing to invite to the new blog. The reason? They interact sen- sibly and interestingly to my input.)

The wayward psychological habits of ufologists, generally, and the crowd (the community I’m familiar with) is important in that it’s the quirkiness and mental instability, mild as it may be, that has hindered any advance in an explanation for the UFO phenomenon.

(I saw a live video, last night, about the ongoing DoD nonsense regarding Luis Elizondo, and how the matter has side-tracked any discussion or study of what went on and is going on with UFO appearances to this day, around military exercises and public visions of what the government calls UAP.)

The autistic nature of UFO interest is the bane of real research, and the need for recognition, rather than real accomplishment, has stalled UFO research since the very beginning of the flying saucer era.

So, pathology of a serious kind, like that in the public arena – Trumpism, Putinism, social media addiction, self-glorification, et cetera – while detrimental profoundly, the pathology within the UFO arena hampers pursuit of the enigmas meaning and import.

The human pathology overall is a matter for Dr. Wells and psychotherapists everywhere. God bless them in their efforts to “cure” humanity.

The problem of psychopathology in the UFO community is a smaller thing, one that is overlooked by everyone interested in UFOs.

UFOers are blind to their own insensibilities and minor madnesses.

And it keeps the UFO mystery at bay, sadly. But there it is ….
