Our reality (and UFOs within it)

This Earth and we, in it, are part of an isolated reality that is circumscribed by Plato’s metaphor in his allegorical tale of The Cave in his Republic:

This profound insight tells us exactly what our reality is.

That there is an outer reality is obvious but not accessible by humans yet, although there have been slight ventures to penetrate that mega-reality.

One day, mankind may find itself having access to the mega-reality that lies outside our “Cave.” But for now that has not happened.

(The assertion by my pal Bryan Sentes that hallucinogenic materials have or will allow humans to access the mega-reality and Maurice Bucke in his masterwork Cosmic Consciousness indicates that some have experienced the mega-reality. Even Thomas Aquinas is said to have visually perceived the mega-reality and I accept that he did.)

We are tethered to the reality that we are experiencing, and a few, who insist that the reality they and we are in is an actual reality, are not in error, but that view is narrow.

I’m pressing for the view that a mega-reality – life off Earth and advanced species residing in the cosmos – exists but has, at this point in our existence, nothing to do with us in any significant way.

The mysterious, paranormal events, including the appearance of UFOs, are inconsequential intrusions into our reality, insertions into our Cave (the Earth and its vicissitudes).

We might even say that Earth is our Garden of Eden and its validation resides in how we inhabit this Eden.

But my point here is that we (humankind) are saddled with life here and attempting to escape this life is not unlike the man who got out of Plato’s cave, only to return with the consequences outlined by Plato.

We humans can, like the explorers who circumnavigated this planet, try to circumnavigate the cosmos but that stretches our reality to the breaking point: mankind will not come away from external trips to the outer reality unscathed.

And UFOs allegedly carrying advanced members of other worlds have strayed beyond their reality when they are said to be visiting here, causing a rip in our reality that brings us into disharmony with what our Eden, our reality, offers.

The Biblical metaphor in Genesis warns us of the damage by eating the Fruit of Knowledge and Plato’s metaphor provided that same warning many years before Hebrew writers presented it.

We should not be trying to extend our knowledge of the mega-reality. To do so brings mental oblivion, as it did with Aquinas and apparently did with others who got a sneak peek at the larger reality.

Live in the here and now, forget the idea that UFOs are harbingers of a greater life, and don’t indulge in hallucinogens, despite the recommendation of a few “scholars” I know.

UFOs are not from outer space. They just aren’t.

Whatever UFOs are, the one thing they aren’t are spacecraft from extraterrestrials roaming the cosmos.

Yes, the remote possibility is there but so remote that the idea is ludicrous.

UFO enthusiasts thinking that the U.S government (and other country agencies) have made or are in contact with alien beings from planets elsewhere in the cosmos are wish-dreaming.

Most serious UFO researchers have abandoned or put on the back burner that UFOs come from an advanced species visiting Earth (now and for eons).

The isolation of Earth, because of its location in our galaxy (and certainly the Universe as a whole), its size, and total insignificance – despite the wishes of some deluded individual who think the Earth is special in some way – shows to sane persons that visitations by visiting aliens, in the numbers indicated by alleged reports is stupifyingly ridiculous.

I’ve proposed, as you know) that some UFO accounts may derive from von Neumann-like probes from an advanced species elsewhere in the galaxy or Universe, but, again, the number or UFO reports mitigates against the idea, except as a possibility.

I like the probe (drone) concept as UFOs are reactive to Earth contacts and rarely behave as individually controlled, random craft.

That UFOs may come from our future (or past) or are artifacts from another dimension or Universe abutting ours makes more sense (to me and rationality).

If governmental individuals have had or are having what they think are interactions with alien beings, they are being gulled by forces that were once called demonic.

Yes, there are Earth-linked “forces” that permeate the nether reasons of the mind of humankind, as I will again delineate, upcoming.

To think that “beings” showing up on Earth from space are tangible rather than numinous is a kind of irrationality that can only be described as mad (insane).

The many “spiritual” or other-worldly intrusions recounted by paranormalists are tethered to Earth or unique to this reality in which we find ourselves.

That those “intrusions” are taken to be evidence of an alien presence takes our reality from Earth and tries to spread it to the cosmos, but the cosmos is a reality that differs, by far, from our reality, and to think that the two are compatible is errant thinking of a great kind, bordering on pathology.

So, UFOs do not, cannot, come from elsewhere in the cosmos, except in a possibility that is too farfetched to remain open to debate or conversation.

A plea for information

My pal and colleague Spanish UFO researcher Jose Carvaca is trying to track down an anecdote from the 1959 Reverend William Gill UFO sighting(s).

Jose has "discovered" a bit of information that Reverend Gill, during his UFO sightings, heard knockings at his door but when he (Gill) went to the door, no one was there.

Jose would like to know if anyone has any information about those alleged door knockings?

(He's asked Australian UFO researcher Bill Chalker, who had contact with Reverend Gill but recalls nothing about door knocks in their conversations.)

Jose wonders if Nick Redfern or anyone else has something on this.
