Altered states of consciousness and overlapping realities

It is very curious that witnesses of different anomalies, such as close encounters with UFOs, Marian apparitions, sightings of fairies and goblins of popular folklore and the vision of ghosts, for example, point out that their respective encounters have happened while "suffering" a kind of altered state of consciousness.

This indicate that the psyche of witnesses is a point of reference for their experiences, and that all these phenomena are connected to each other, beyond what their opposing appearances indicate to us; "extraterrestrials", "ghosts", "virgins", "gnomes", etc.

Therefore, it is very likely that all these paradigms are occurring in sporadic and ephemeral psychic intersections with portions of reality unknown to our ordinary senses. In the same way, if our psyche can interfere with this new manifested reality, it is feasible that the visualized result has much to do with the mental content of each individual.

Many witnesses of close encounters with UFOs indicate that before encountering the ship and its occupants, they felt that they were prey to a strange sensory phenomenon, time seemed to have stopped and they claim that they were isolated from everyday reality.

These same descriptions are habitual in the different anomalies, the Marian visionaries assure that they enter in a special state of consciousness that allows them to visualize the virgin, while their companions or the public in the zone, remain on the margin. Some traditional folklore scholars asserted that in order to encounter the "little people," witnesses must have a certain non-ordinary "vision" that allowed them to see this secret community. And researchers of encounters with ghost have similarly pointed out that witnesses experience strange sensory states.

If we compare these episodes with the classic narrations of mystics and visionaries, including the accounts referred by people with psychic disorders, we will realize that all of them, from different angles, and from different ways of viewing and interacting with this new reality, are describing accesses to new ways of experiencing the universe that surrounds them.

Therefore, one of the conclusions we can deduce is that these "phenomena" obey the same sensorial cause of indeterminate origin, which, in turn, can be interpreted and decoded in different ways (indicating that the witness is not a mere spectator but actively participates in what is observed). This would indicate the existence of an unknown "psychic entity" that connects with the mind of witnesses, in certain circumstances, sharing portions of their reality. The interaction/communication/visualization of this new cognitive reality involves many factors, the projection harmonizing for a moment, with a border zone between realities, adapting material that is able to influence the environment and the witnesses.
