The gods are on a rampage

Atheist Richard Dawkins wrote about the Universe, “ … [It] has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose,” only “blind, pitiless indifference.” [River Out of Eden, Page 133. mentioned in Stephen C. Meyer’s Return of the God Hypothesis, Page 29]

This is the view of many God skeptics: our existence is unruled and/or mitigated by an indifferent, passive force or entity, a panoply of accidental and without meaning happenstance, called fate.

But that so many current, dire consequences are occurring, in situ, around the world, affecting millions of humans (and other living creatures, including plant life) indicates a pattern showing purpose; there are too many, at-the-same time happenings, that one can deduce a purpose in the events, which include the world-wide COVID-19 pandemic, the wildfires and tornados in the U.S., the strife in other countries, (Afghanistan for one), episodic droughts, climate change, killer floods in Germany and Belgium.

Some reading, here, are themselves, indifferent to the idea that there is purpose to such plights and attribute such insidious happenings, believing, like Dawkins, that the bad episodes are just a matter of indifferent purpose, the way things are, “naturally”: fate!

But I contend that some force or forces are instigating malicious mischief, as Yahweh, the Israelite pretend god, supposedly did with Noah and the flood..

At some point(s), the gods become irritated with the stupidity of humans – called “sins” within “god-speak” – and take actions against them (humans).

Since these gods – are not really Gods (in the metaphysical, profound sense) – they can only harm humans in ways that, while personally devastating, are not devastating for the human species as a whole, as happened with earlier mankind, the Neanderthals as a primary example.

Has the UFO phenomenon been harbingers of pending disasters? Not quite.

The “cross” seen by Constantine at the Battle of the Milvian Bridge on 28 October 312, arguably, a UFO (probably a delusional image) presaged the establishment of the Christian Church, but that’s about it when it comes to UFOs foretelling anything.

The Miracle of Fatima took place in 1917, after WWI and the so-called “foo-fighters” of WWII  were seen late in that war, with the modern era of UFOs happening in 1947 and afterward, foretelling nothing to anyone, about anything as far as I can discern,

UFOs just show up, indicating a presence and little more, the things irritating observers while doing nothing profound or worthwhile.

This, for me, shows the mischief of the gods, that human species with little to show for itself other than a prankishness of the species, something that many UFOers attribute to something called the “trickster” -- a concept that makes me grind my teeth.

The gods have resurfaced, as they had in the past, with no existential validity, playing amongst us often to devastating effect, but confirming, for some of us, that they exist and didn’t die out completely as some have wished or believed.

Their mode of transportation, UFOs, and perhaps other “devices” or methodologies.

(You’ve got a better explanation for ongoing disasters or UFOs? Let me know.)
