Determinism, predestination, and UFO sightings

Since my day is mostly concerned with news media, I see and
hear lots of reports about accidents, because for media that’s the source food
– “If it bleeds, it leads” which isn’t only about murders or shootings;
anything that is horrible – or “horrific” to use media’s favorite non-word – is
primary grist for newscasts or newspapers.
There is a philosophical doctrine – Determinism – that
states “all events, including human action, are ultimately determined by causes
external to the will.” [From the internet]
But I’m not going to push that idea here, as it isn’t
pertinent to another point I’d like to make, which has to do with
Predestination (which is somewhat akin to determinism):
In the past few days I saw/heard a story about a family
driving along a highway when a truck crossed the median and hit their SUV,
killing most of the family: the mother, four children, with only the father
surviving.
Then close to home in Geneva, Indiana, an old couple was
driving home when a tree fell on their car killing them both.
Today [7/12] ABC TV news reported that a landscape truck
lost a boulder it was hauling and the boulder hit the car behind it, killing a
young girl and her mother.
(Cars and trucks crossing the median hitting other vehicles heading in an opposite direction are abundant. I’m sure some of you have heard like
reports wherever you are.)
Being in the wrong place at the wrong time is a “fate-meme.”
And I think it is more than that. It’s the predestined (determined or predetermined)
ordination of a (malicious?) divinity: God.
Each human being has a fateful, predetermined life drawn out
for him or her, and can only escape dire consequences, or the scripted
scenario, if something warns them of a pending disaster.
What the something might be can be conjectured by
paranormalists perhaps and I haven’t a real clue as to what it might be.
What does this have to do with UFOs you ask?
Maybe the sighting of a UFO or alleged encounter a bit more
dramatic – a landing nearby with humanoids disembarking from a strange craft –
has been predestined by the “evil” divinity (which some klutzes call The
Trickster).
Spanish researcher Jose Antonio Caravaca would say, maybe,
that the predestined sighting was brought about by his “external agent” and
Jacques Vallee has something like that in his thinking, as did John Keel, in
the last days of his life when he was slipping into dementia.
But since everything is predestined, or seems to be, with
those few warnings that sometimes take place or occur as part of the
predestined plan, UFO sightings and events, although without any apparent
purpose, like those “accidental” deaths, why do they occur?
It’s what I’ve called, in writings over the years, The Game
of God. (The God Game).
There is a Gnostic underpinning to my view but setting that
aside, I imagine, if there is no real purpose to UFO sightings, and they are
just the whim of a force greater than human will, that pursuing an explanation
for the mysterious phenomenon is ultimately futile.
This boils down to my substratum view (not so substrate
lately) that reality is a cluster of mad activity and thought, our existent
circumstance.
I acknowledge that pushing such a view is offputting to most
of you, but I’ll provide some supporting material, upcoming, from persons
better qualified than me and much, much smarter.
