Elisabeth Asbrink's "1947"

The New Yorker for March 12, 2018 had a new book in its Briefly Noted entitled 1947.

The Swedish author, Elisabeth Åsbrink, “…assemble[d]  the year 1947 into a splintered whole,” the reviewer writes, continuing to note that the author provides “a patchwork of significant events … Her careful juxtaposition of disparate  events highlights an underlying interconnectedness and suggests a new way of thinking about the postwar era.” [Page 77]

In the book Ms. Åsbrink mentions Ken Arnold’s iconic sighting of flying objects near Mt. Rainier and the (in)famous Roswell flying disc crash, one of my readers [Don] tells me.
