Hallucinations? Scenes from the future? Actual UFO incidents?

In Grassroots UFOs, assembled from some Center for
UFO Studies files by Michael Swords, mentioned here a few times, there is a
Section 29: Pre-1947 reports.
Most of you know that I am enamored by pristine early
reports, as they haven’t been encrusted or marred by additional input and
biases built up over the years of flying saucer/UFO hoopla.
For instance, Professor Swords offers a 1930 daytime account [Page 132] from
Vernonia, Oregon where “a hovercraft [sic]; ladder came down and two little men
in shiny suits came out. Pointed a wand at a child [that] caused unconsciousness”
This account is similar to the 1964 Socorro/Zamora sighting
(two little men, hovercaft, ladder) and this report:
[From July 1, 1965, Valensole, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. An
alleged UFO sighting and close encounter by farmer Maurice Masse. According to
Masse, he encountered two small beings near a spherical vehicle that had landed
in a nearby field. Masse claims that he was paralyzed when one of the beings

Then Professor Swords provides [Page 134] a 1943 report from
Guam wherein a man spotted “a small, round, navy blue craft containing
portholes around it … Case involves paralysis, sound (a buzz) and a very
odd follow-up story” – it seems a fire started in the witness's house and two
“mysterious beings in white suits” … “put out the fire by grabbing it up in
their hands.”
A story from Open Minds relates odd fires suggested by some
to be started by UFO aliens:
An October 1945 incident near Boswell, Oklahoma, related by
Professor Swords [Page 135] tells of a 9 year-old girl who was playing outside
while her mother nursed a baby brother on the porch.
The 9 year-old was climbing in a chinaberry tree, as she
often did, when she “blacked out” and then “remembered … being suspended in the
air above the tree.”
She recalls falling “through the branches … and [landing] on
the ground.”
She was unhurt but didn’t see her mother on the porch.
Running into the house. She found her mother in the kitchen who asked “What’s
the matter? What did you see outside?” The girl said “I didn’t see anything.
The mother answered: ‘I didn’t see anything either.’”
“Later the mother and daughter recovered themselves enough
to discuss the incident, and both saw a metallic ship … with a curved upper
area and a flat bottom.The mother then blanked. [Her] daughter had her
floating/falling experience, and watched the craft leave to the horizon,
seemingly transforming into a pattern of individual dots before disappearing.”
“ … an older sister, another brother, and a grandmother all lived in the house and should have been around at that time. ‘No one knows where
they were all afternoon.’”
The mother moved out of the house “because of practical
reasons” she said but moved into a more expensive hotel.
The little girl “never played in the chinaberry tree again.”
What are we to make of this bizarre account?
The daughter’s last observation of the supposed craft smacks
of a concussionary event.
And the mother and daughter may have had a “Folie à deux
(/fɒˈli ə ˈduː/; French pronunciation: [fɔli a dø]; French for "madness
of two", or shared psychosis, is a psychiatric syndrome in which symptoms
of a delusional belief and hallucinations are transmitted from one individual

But were the pair actually witness to a strange UFO
incident?
The tales [reports] above fascinate (me anyway) and are part
of the UFO oeuvre, perhaps significant for an explanation of the enigmatic
phenomenon.
