Alleged UFO abductees [experiencers] and reality

Most of my life has been consumed by the psychiatric/psychological world and those who play a part in that said world.

But stories or accounts of those who recount being taken aboard an alien craft by (apparently) extraterrestrial entities I have shirked pretty much, for the reasons I will enumerate.

While I accept that something happened to Betty and Barney Hill, Calvin Parker (and Charles Hickson), even Travis Walton (and a few other persons whose experiences seem like alien kidnappings), my problems of acceptance lie in the configurations of people who appear to have mental instabilities or provide details so near to psychopathic modalities, they need to be discarded as actual events or happenings, or evoke such preposterous renditions to reality, the law of physics, and common sense, they have to be denied.

Passing through solid walls or sudden appearing portals are a clue to the unreal aspect of alien abduction but still many sensible people in the UFO community still hue to the actuality of such accounts.

Being lifted to an alien craft (UFO) is shorn of the equipment requirements for such an ascent.

And that all surrounding people, animals, and  technical apparatuses that capture images or sounds remain subdued doesn’t seem to deny believers in “experiencer” accounts goes to the meme – the will to believe.

But more importantly, for my purposes, the aftermath of such supposed events don’t show up in traumatic symptoms in those who think they’ve been abducted.

There are a number of papers dealing with hallucinations and/or delusions that show what occurs to persons who have them.

And a raft of papers are extant, within Google Scholar, that also show what happens when a person experiences a traumatic or “sensational” episode of some kind.

Many UFO abductees add a sexual flavor to their experience and papers on childhood sexual trauma appear often in papers dealing with hallucinations and delusions.

(I can provide many of the papers hinted above to anyone who’s interested.)

Actual research into UFO abductions or experiencer accounts is woefully lame or non-existent.

That the UFO phenomenon is beclouded by such foolishness astounds.
